replied on: 6/22/2005 8:33:49 PM Besides Tarl giving his own last name, I don't recall lot having such.Most seemed to use where they were from or what they did as a way of identifying themseves....As far as r/p goes, again it seems very few use a last name...I think most here can at least identify the person they interact with by only one name... |

replied on: 6/22/2005 11:52:54 PM I think it not out of the realm of possibility that goreans had surnames, but I could be mistaken. Tarl could be the exception to the rule, as he has been in many of the books. Some of our Goreans have done a fabulous job of fleshing out their characters' histories and roles, giving life to them up to and including surnames. |

replied on: 6/23/2005 7:10:50 AM I am of low caste. The books make reference, on occasion, how those of the low castes feel about revealing their true name, so the name I use is the name I wish "you" to know me by which may or may not make it my real name. |
