| Shotokan. | Why did you pick your SN? posted on: 8/29/2005 2:13:28 PM Simply put what were the reasons for the SN that you choose for Gor? I choose Shotokan long before I used it in Gor as the name of my former web design business it was called Shotokan Design. I have always had an affinity for the Asian culture which even some of my tattoos reflect. For the time that I left Gor I began using Shotokan as my SN on MSN and Yahoo. When I choose to come back to VP when I was in a position in the military where I could actually get back online, I came back into VP as Shotokan and I just stuck with it. Shotokan is a style of Karate, it does not imply the name of the founder but was given by the students of the founder Gichin Funakoshi. It means house or school of the waving pines and was given as a nickname because of the trees that were located around the school where he taught. |

Why did you pick your SN?
replied on: 8/29/2005 3:28:13 PM I have always had unusual chat names. The primary reason is because I dislike being copied or copying anyone else. Rarely if ever have I run across another with the same SN as I've had. Drakani is from a page of dragon runes. The meaning is posted somewhere on this board, another thread that i can't find right now, lol. But the Drakani rune is in the forehead of the dragon tattoo on my shoulderblade. So it fit at the time, and I haven't found sufficient reason to change it. It suits me. I got my NRP nic from an elvish name generator. It's my rl name, turned into a form of elvish. |

replied on: 8/29/2005 10:08:41 PM When I was trying to find a suitable name I picked the "pet name" my girl has called me for the longest, Daddy Beast. However for Gor I did not feel that was very proper and after being teased by a few of the PG's I decided to change it to Master Beast. Then after the death of a woman I cherished very much I took the last name of Blade to always carry her with me in chat. |

I don't know if it was because she knew me for a long while and thought it fit or if she had made up the account prior and it was easy to pass on to me. lol Either way I am grateful.
