| Lady_Tyana | Just my opinion............Terrorists posted on: 3/19/2006 2:40:38 PM I am going to gain a lot of brownie points for this one, but here goes nothing... First, before i start, please let it be known that i have absolutely nothing against the States, except for its government. I am sure that there are terrorists (radicals??) out there raising cane, just because. BUT Bush had NO business going into Iraq, pretty much destroying it, and then playing the big hero by "staying to help the people rebuild". The war IS all about OIL and CONTROL. Once they got the man that they were "supposedly" after, they should have got to hell out. Maybe the terrorists are retaliating against Bush's strong arm antics? How many more people are going to have to die before Mr Bush finally comes to his senses? |

replied on: 3/19/2006 8:15:22 PM I agree on many points.One thing about the 9/11 attack that always seemed strange to Me is the attack on the pentagon. The world trade towers was a plausible target,but the pentagon......there is a large area over Washington D.C. known as a no fly zone.If an aircraft even grazes that no fly zone they get a wonderful escort from fighters & attack choppers. Some might ask why...the answer is simple,it's our nations capitol. It has been that way long before 9/11. The only thing that makes Me wonder,is where were the ready alert fighters when flight 77 entered the no fly zone? I do appologize if any think I have hi-jacked the thread. I would like to add that I do agree it was about oil & the money that can be made by so called "private contractors" helping to rebuild. |

I guess maybe i am too idealistic to believe that this world could survive much better without war, etc. We teach our kids not to fight unless absolutely necessary, and not to bully your way through life, then we have government officials that do just that. Oh well, maybe one day ***sighs*** |

replied on: 3/19/2006 10:24:52 PM and i would like to add that there is a huge difference between a handful of terrorists, and the majority of muslim people... and i would like to know where are the american people when their govt has committed terrorist acts in other countries? i know that will offend a lot of people, and i apologise, but terrorism is dependent on the perspective you are looking at it from. as the americans see their actions as peacekeeping, so maybe do the *terrorists* |

I have a very good friend in Louisiana that tried to defend the Iraqi war, etc, until i sent him some articles from a Canadian newspaper. He admitted that they had never heard any of it, and that he could understand why a lot of "Non-American" people were upset. There have been individuals charged with war crimes in the past. Maybe its time a "few" of the chosen ones" were ALSO charged. |

There are lots of signs for minor infractions: No Smoking, Stay Off the Grass, Keep Out, and they seem to work fairly well. I think we should also have signs for major crimes: Murder Strictly Prohibited, NO Raping People, Thank You for Not Kidnapping Anyone. It's certainly worth a try. I'm convinced Watergate would never have happened if there had just been a sign in the Oval Office that said, Malfeasance of Office Is Strictly Against the Law, or Thank You for Not Undermining the Constitution. George Carlin~ What sign would work in this situation? I often wish for America's leadership to pray for integrity, character, self discipline, resourcefulness... but that is a womans thoughts.. Men don't think in those terms do they? What trait would keep the man who is charged with upholding security of the largest most lucrative country in the world and those that benefit from that security to abstain from ??
