replied on: 10/9/2006 1:53:58 PM A lie is a lie no matter what face you paint on it. If someone posts actions of another person that never in fact took place, then it's a lie more than god moding. If it's a role-play scenario they are writing for a story then they should stick to fictional characters unless they have the express consent of others to be used in a story. No one has the right to determine another's fate without that person's consent. Now obviously if you role-play and someone kills you (determines your fate) then you consented by role-playing with them. You stand responsible for that choice. But if someone is just trying to 'off' or slander another person and do so in the form of altered text then it's a lie and invalid. |

replied on: 10/9/2006 10:21:53 PM ~Chuckles at this Question~ Well this all came about after he read on Laura's board a bit of role play that evolved after a huge fight between Insanity and myself in wich challenges were issued and he like the Supposed Great Gorean Master he is put me on iggy and went all Super Gorean and refused to accept the challenge so instead of running off at the mouth about how Super Gorean he is I left the Man alone and so roleplayed why I wasnt in Gor for a while with the excuse that we had a fight over my I hope to be FC and now he has run away to blame it on everyone else but himself. If you dont like the Roleplay boards then dont read them and as far as Im concerned Insanity everything comes to those that wait and were I thought you were an intelligent and insiteful Gorean I discover you are just a petty time server who isnt worth the worry and greif i let you put me thry bewell Super Gorean dont both to talk to me or anyone from Laura again as we all disown you |

replied on: 10/10/2006 7:22:27 AM God Modding - Actions or plot that affect someone's character other than your own in such a way that they cannot react, or fall into harms way with no way to counter it. God Moding in any game is bad. Sadly, such things are little known in Gor. Most people here have never role played online in a real RPG so they have no concept of what to do. I've often said, that everyone in Gor needs to spend a month in any other organized RPG with rules( D&D, VtM etc etc). This way they'd have some experience with such things as; In Character, out of Character, Non Player Charcters, Plot or Storylines, feasabilty ( Plausability), and how to keep the Real and the Fantasy seperate.
