Well tonight, when I opened locate I did notice a few new names, among them a free woman showing more cleavage then the waitress' at Hooters. I know that I am going to get the typical argument that I should not be looking at what others are wearing and/or minding my own business. To this, I am going to say, it is my business. This is my Gor, just the same, as it is everyone else’s and it is these small matters that break the fiber of Gor. ![]() Is this the Gor we wish to present? |

replied on: 10/18/2006 9:32:58 PM Gor FW..but for how long. I hafta agree with you Jehan. Yaano, it's stuff like that that just makes it so much harder for new folks coming to the community to get a grip on what its all about. They see one contradiction after another and see some just completely ignore the books in favor of the Burger King Gor and land up the victims of mass confusion. *ponders* Why would you bother to veil with half yer titsels hanging oot? If you wanna be a slave so you can show yer virtual gimmicks...ditch the veil and move to the furs. |

replied on: 10/18/2006 10:17:28 PM some just use Gor as their own personal dating pool and a veil is counter productive to scoring cack..she will soon find herself in a collar, which might just be the purpose of such avs...anyways, theyre a dime a dozen, ya see em shopping for a FM / Owner all the time |

replied on: 10/19/2006 7:57:19 PM Interesting. Who "trained" the female? -------------------- Serving (Scarf or Veil) Dance Performed using ribbons or scarves as a form of enticement for the Master. The girl will offer to serve the Master in a most exciting manner. She typically wears a costume of scarves or uses a ribbon to arouse both herself and the Master. Falling to her knees, she may offer a lustful serve of ka-la-na. "Tribesman of Gor" p. 13 -------------------- I'd say a case of mistaken identity. I wish you well, |

replied on: 10/23/2006 1:33:31 PM Good question, and I think the answer is simple, John Norman and the way he wrote free women in his novels. And as someone who has to exist in this online Gor, which I love, I have every right to speak out against what I believe is being twisted. However, please continue to dress as you choose as long you accept the consequences of your actions when they occur. |

replied on: 10/23/2006 1:51:19 PM You are correct in one thing... You can dress any way you choose, after all you pay for your chat, ~or someone does that doesn't mind~. But in all the books I have read. Even in their chambers, they didn't show ANY skin! They were covered from head to foot even in their rooms. Maybe they didn't wear a veil BUT their body was covered. Because at ANY moment one of the FM in their homes could come in and if one is dressed as a slut, then one is treated as such, even by Men they've know their whole lives. And On top of that, Women HAVE been known to have been KIDNAPPED from their OWN rooms. And if one is dressed um questionable, they'd wonder why they were kidnapping you. Because they'd want to know why you weren't in a collar. But again. you have every right to dress, talk, act any way you choose. Even in your own chambers. After all you pay for your chat. |

replied on: 10/23/2006 4:01:42 PM In the privacy of her own home and in the company of her family, a Free Woman will often appear fairly relaxed and in a comfortable presentation in appearance. Under these conditions and behind the closed doors of her household it would be not only difficult for a Free Woman to wear the strictly moderated and highly ornate garments of her caste, it would be simply ridiculous. If guests arrived, I'm sure the appearance of the FW would be quite the opposite. She is, after all, a Gorean woman, well accustomed to the fashions and brief garments worn by both the men and women of Gor. In the pleasure gardens of her home a Free Woman dresses for comfort and functionality, and some of her outfits can be revealing to say the least. However, once beyond the safety and protection of her house walls she wisely wears garments which totally conceal her for protection. How can a FW be put on trail from a male who was spying on her, using an earthen locate tool? Was the FM visiting the home of Quiet? Being a paid member of Halsoft has nothing to do with the Garments worn by a role-playing Gorean Free Woman. I wish you well, |

replied on: 10/23/2006 5:08:59 PM You are so right Talena, a free woman should be allowed to dress and act exactly as she pleases. But then that standard has to apply to men as well, for they after all are free too. |

replied on: 10/23/2006 5:28:21 PM hmmmmm perhaps one might consider drawing the curtains (going private) if one wished to wear such revealing clothing even in chambers; I for one would not wish some strange Free Male to pass my chambers and peek though my windows while I was changing for example -shudders at the thought- Ofcourse this is just my thoughts on the matter. You would have to assume that at times a Free Woman would be in different states of dress but she would draw the curtains or for that matter close the doors. Aye, Free Women took baths on occassion. She would not leave the windows and doors wide open for any passing Male to view. Now in my opinion, I would not wear that garment! If you choose to do so, perhaps drawing that curtain and locking those doors would not be a bad idea. You know gorean men they are going to take every opportunity they can to look at a woman, an open window is one. Draw that window shade, close ya door and no one will bother you. |

replied on: 10/24/2006 2:13:51 AM I'd like to know how in the world Kayra ended up a sister to Ev, being as she was in the North for so long. Nothing like inconsistency when building one's storyline... Perhaps she found the weather too cool for her preference, and moved south so that she could wear such revealing clothing. *snorts* |
