| Midnight | Online Gor and Perspective posted on: 10/19/2006 8:13:09 PM The educated Gorean might proclaim there are three pillars of Gor -- Home Stone, Caste and Slavery. These of course are the solid foundations of our Gorean Society, but I will leave such discussions to men like Luther. It is well documented and covered. We of course cannot really be in Gor so we have diverged into three camps...the life stylers and role players the most discussed. I would also add the third group of the philosophers and lovers of the novels. There are of course many shades between the three camps. Though shocking to some and not so shocking to others, Norman did not write the novels to support either the role players or life stylers. My queries are about the online environment. 1. Which camp do you consider yourself? 2. Is there an area where you believe 'online' Gor lacks according to what you believe? 3. Name 3 things you think should be the base or pillars of 'online' Gor. replied on: 10/24/2006 11:04:19 PM Yea well..here's mine. 1. I am a role player, and I take the role play seriously as I do my character. Living a lifestyle as a PG is just not...uh..feasible; however, much of what I have learned and put into practice in my role play has bled over into my r/t mindset. 2. Online Gor lacks in knowledge; i.e., too many who havent read a book, or have read a couple and think they are now the equivalent of PKs. They bend, distort, stretch and twist everything there is about Gor and Gorean characters to meet some deep seated need to be titled "Gorean", but yet not BE Gorean. 3. Three things I think should be the very foundation of Gor are: a. The Books. b. Common Sense. c. Accountability/Responsibility. I wish you well. |
