Ohhhhhhh but Fancy! In a city of ONE, it can be claimed that anything is legal there. And we all know that women in gor don't REALLY want to be around strong men, they only want to the claim of being 'Gorean', without all those unpleasant and annoying details like plausibility or *hushed whisper* accountability.

*snicker*

I sat and considered this free woman’s request all day, trying to grasp the logic in it. The only point of logic I can find is her desperate need to get away from the jokesters she presently resides with in her current city, for which I have no argument.

Although the one question that weighs in my mind heavily is, why does a woman, who is only of late a free woman in HalGor and courting the First Sword of her current city, going to do with an entire city, use it as their summer home?

Do not misread me, I am not disputing on the grounds this is a free woman laying claim, but rather the circumstances of her current state in HalGor. I do think women are proficient in running cities, in fact, I know several that are very knowledgeable in administrative skills, but the real question yet again is why? Whom does such a claim benefit? The communities, bullocks, if you want to be a benefit to the community then help maintain the city in which you already reside and where your future free companion claims to be first sword.

This land claiming and Home Stone skipping constantly amazes me, because no Gorean would pledge loyalty to a Home Stone and then treat that oath so frivolously casting it aside on convenience. I assume that when a person enters a city, and establish family there as well as choose to court the First Sword that you as a Gorean have sworn allegiance to that city.

Young men and women of the city, when coming of age, participate in a ceremony, which involves the swearing of oaths, and the sharing of bread, fire, and salt. In this ceremony, the Home Stone of the city is held by each young person and kissed. Only then are the laurel wreath and the mantle of citizenship conferred. This is a moment no young person of Ar forgets. The youth of Earth have no Home Stone. Citizenship, interestingly, in most Gorean cities is conferred only upon the coming of age, and only after certain examinations are passed. Further, the youth of Gor, in most cities, must be vouched for by citizens of the city, not related in blood to him, and be questioned before a committee of citizens, intent upon determining his worthiness or lack thereof to take the Home Stone of the city as his own. Citizenship in most Gorean communities is not something accrued in virtue of the accident of birth but earned by virtue of intent and application. The sharing of a Home Stone is no light thing in a Gorean city.
Page 394 Slave Girl of Gor

“I am surprised to hear such sentiments,” I said, “from those who must once have held and kissed the Home Stone of Ar.”
This was a reference to the citizenship ceremony, which, following the oath of allegiance to the city, involves an actual touching of the city’s Home Stone. This may be the only time in the life of a citizen of the city that they actually touch the Home Stone. In Ar, as in many Gorean cities, citizenship is confirmed in a ceremony of this sort. Nonperformance of this ceremony, upon reaching intellectual majority, can be a cause for expulsion from the city. The rationale seems to be that the community has a right to expect allegiance from its members.
{Vagabonds of Gor - 303}

Are we once again going to allow ignorance and compromise to make up our Gor, exceptions that have very little or no explanation in the books of Gor and yet tolerated, because it is easier to agree then to stand up and challenge.

The plausibility of this claim is absurd and I as a free man of HalGor dispute the claim, joining with other fellow Gorean’s who have posted before me.

Wonderful!

Does it ever occur to ya's that a lot o these women base their ..uh..."ownership" on how many pages they have invested? Yea, I've seen that excuse. All this work they put into building pages. Has nothing to do with administrating a city, or even a barn. Yea I saw that excuse on the Land Registry.

It's good to see a MAN step forward and snap "ENUFF" when he see's something wrong.

Tryp you may also then have noticed she was told to become a Admin was not just handed to her she needed to be voted in and the fitting title till such time would be regent, which is how the listing will show her when it is re loaded today.

*scratchin head* Regent? I thought the previous Admin had to appoint the Regent of a location. Who decides it if said previous owner is long gone?

Regent... Smegent.

I thought she were a physician!

An' since she be courtin' Quiet, does that mean she ain't been FC'd afore now an' that she ain't 'ad no babies yet?

An' iff'n that be the case, then dinna that mean by 'er own Caste rules, she 'as to be reproducin' afore she practices 'er profession?

An' iff'n that be all true, then 'ow the 'ell does she 'ave time to be a bloody administrator or regent o' a city, let alone time to lay claim to it?

Sheesh, the woman needs be on 'er back to fulfill 'er caste requirements afore she does anythin' else, in me e'er so 'umble opinion..........
