replied on: 12/11/2006 7:40:38 PM yano ..I dont think Im the only one ..in fact I know Im not , but I find this a bit sick . If the so called elf5 has had a death in her family . Im sure You could have posted under your Gorean name or the name we all know you by and let us know , instead of doing it like this. With that said , I would like to say my thoughts are with elf5 at this time, its a very difficuit time of year to lose a loved one. |

replied on: 12/11/2006 10:10:44 PM I think because elf5 posted her own absence those who have responded to her have done so in kind, meaning, they are referring to her as the name she posted under. Those who know her, do know who she is. But it could be due to the sensitive nature of her r/t issues she prefers to stick to the anonymity and those who know her are respecting that wish. Two years ago when I lost my younger sister on Christmas night I chose not to post it publicly mostly due to the fact that few people know me well enough to even have known I had a younger sister, instead I told only those closest to me in a private manner. Perhaps this is elf6's way of letting those who know and love elf5 of the situation since they have posted in concern without exposing her private life to just anyone. I understand it probably seems confusing but I also know this post wasn't made to be sick or disrespectful but as a friend posting for a friend to let those concerned know why she is absent without giving too many details, which simply aren't needed. It's always galled me in the past to see people respond to r/t deaths by saying "Priest Kings be with you" because as we all know, there are no priest kings to be with anyone. This, however, falls outside the realm of that type of sentiment. The person behind elf5, because of the time of the year, chose to post that she would be away and not able to partake in the festivities that the elves got into last year. So then a few posts cropped up expressing concern over her absence and a friend (no it isn't me, although I do consider her a friend) posted on her absence using her own festive name, again to retain the anonymity of the situation. Those who need to know where/whom she is, do so now as I do not *myself* have the time to sit and write each and every single one, and also lack the emails. I did as elf5 requested verbatim. Only she is the one entitled to choose to how this should be done. End of Story. This isn't a topic of discussion or debate, so therefore I am closing this thread. |
