replied on: 12/27/2006 9:42:25 AM Once, a long time ago…. A person got a bug up her ass and hurt someone that she cared very much for. This person has never been good at speaking her feelings… nor has this person ever been very good at putting her emotionality into any kind of rational context. Over the years, this deficiency has grown to become quite noticeable… Sometimes a person thinks they are so right that it is ok to say whatever it is they need to say to prove their point… or to ‘win’ whatever it is they are doing/working at. That is never the case. If anything… in those moments a person is tested, and who they hope to be should be better than the words that may have been issued forth. Sadly once again… that is not always the case, and some very hurtful things have been said once long ago. I saw this post recently… three wishes. What would you wish for someone, no names or anything… just the wishes. (Of course, since when have I ever been so short and not give into long winded posts.) The post has been rolling around in my head for awhile, and since I am so close lipped, and so unable to speak things close to my heart at times I had not been able to even put into words what those wishes for others may be. Vague thoughts, images, feelings or memories creep in but nothing concrete. If only my gift for words could be so perfect for those moments instead of the uglier ones. So if I was going to give three wishes to someone I think they would be something along the lines of… I wish for you that cruel words could be erased. I wish for you and yours every happiness… and meaning that more than a few typed words can ever convey. I wish that the words “I’m sorry” could get across the depth of feeling that is behind those two little words, and I also wish that it hadn’t taken so long for me to be able to say them. I have of course over time written and lost the nerve to say those two words more times that I can count… but it should not have taken so long to actually do it. To the person whom I am writing of I also want to say… Thank you. Even if the friendship that was shared may not have been years, it was truly one of the best of my life and I thank you for it.
