I have a question that pertains to most goreans if not all. How does someone god mode an entire region, especially when that region is populated by more than yourself? Don't you have to take into account the cities and towns in that area that would be affected by such actions? How is that responsible, and viable roleplay? I don't think it is. I certainly wouldn't tolerate anyone posting on a message board, some drivel about anything that affects the isle of Tyros in any way without my consent or the consent of Tyros' Ubar and Ubara. Could someone post on a board that they were laying claim and blockading the entire borders of the NF without notifying the inhabitants of that whole geographical region? What about the panther girls who would certainly have something to say about that? Are they obligated to even acknowledge it? What about rivers, and Thassa? Are these areas up for god moding? What about the people who travel up and down those avenues? Is it acceptable to post these actions on a private board, or one only used by a select few, such as a city board or for a centralized area? If this is so, than I say it should be acceptable for someone to post something on my private board doing the same thing. Sounds ridiculous right? So why would anyone try this anywhere else? I am hoping for a good amount of input from others on this one. Thanks D. |

replied on: 12/26/2006 10:45:26 PM Brings to mind the recent Bazi plague outbreak, which if thought out and a few minutes spent in research..would never have happened. Usually war-like aggression has a cause. An insult, a demand, a challenge or even just plain greed and is usually area specific for starters...but some kind of an explanation would be required I would think. As for PG, I think they'd probably only be peripherally interested secondary to increased activity should it reach that far into the NF, which would be costly in terms of loss of life and limb, and if it affected their survival. It would be impossible to blockade the borders of the entire NF. No one truly knows just how big it is. Such postings, as you mention, on private boards or boards used by a select few are just that. Private, and would have no affect on anyone other than the poster and the few that read it. Postings should be made on the boards of all involved. A declaration of war needs to be posted by the uh...declarer to the declaree <--ffs, and posted on the boards of all involved. Folks can choose to participate in that rp or not. |
