Protocol change?

I have a question for the Gorean community.

Recently my personal slave was IM'd and the one doing so was rude and asked my slave what he was doing with such an inferior FW as myself. She went on to comment on my character and then implied my slave was not worth being in Gor because he was with me.
It wasnt too long ago that a person, new to Gor, was called down for similiar actions but he was just asking questions of a slave.

My question is this..when did it become ok to IM anyone's personal slave for any reason?

I have periodically IM'd slaves owned by others, but usually for a specific reason, such as messages or questions for their owners. If the owner was online I think it would be considered courtesy to IM the owner first, wouldn't it?

I would have to agree with you there Drak. If the Owner is online it would be prudent to contact the Owner. I have on occassion left a message with a slave to have his/her Owner contact me when they come online.

Perhaps reasons do come up for someone to leave messages with slaves for their Owners and after re reading my statement should have seperated that point from the question I asked.

I believe the protocol has always been that if you didnt want Free im'ing your little boy, then he should be instructed to turn off his im's. I love how it becomes protocol when its your property. perhaps youd like to name that person so we can decide for ourselves whether its a legitimate claim or whether its just you trying to start something again

I am curious. Exactly how long ago is "recently"?

I'm not going to name the person that IM'd my slave because I wasnt posting to start trouble..was asking a question.

I was hoping things had changed but it appears that if I ask a question it's me trying to cause trouble. If I had wanted to do that..the name would have been mentioned.

Drak,
It was recent is all that needs to be said about it. I waited to ask my question until I cooled off so it wouldnt become a bashing session.

actually it was several weeks ago. and torrie did embellish the questioning a little, i asked why he was with her, yes, but i didnt say anything about whether he should be in gor. but thats torrie starting drama...I am Free. I will im whoever I want, tell yer boy to shut off his ims. thats the way it was always done.

-smiles softly- Actually if one were adhering to how it should be in my humble opinion not all goreans would be the same. Sure it would be nice if we were all very nice and polite, but hey why do I need guards then? Hey...... Free Goreans were just that.... Free to do as they pleased. I would prefer to speak with the Free Person involved. -blah- I'm a Free Woman what do I what conversing with slaves unless it is absolutely necessary. There are times I would have to -shudders-. However, I am not going to judge another Free Person for their choices. Many in here have different standards and they are Free to choice those standards for their character it enriches the role play - makes it that much more entertaining. (The trouble makers are just as fun as the up tight do rights.)

I wish you well.

First of all, and I don't mean this unkindly, there are no "protocols" on Gor. Protocols, if there were/are any would, like laws, extend no further than your city walls.

Perhaps it would be better termed Gorean "etiquette"? We all know the Free will do as they please and suffer the consequences of their actions, if any are to be suffered, only within their own city walls.

I think if there would be any protocol at all as regards IM'ing slaves, it would all be contingent upon rules for the slave set by his/her owner. One commonly see's "all IM's seen by mistress/master" or IM's are turned off period. Perhaps you could instruct your slave that his IM's are to be off completely when you are not online.

I understand what your saying Tyrp but the point is, another Free was put down by many saying he had no right to IM a personal slave but it's ok for others to do it? That's the frustrating part, the double standard that seems to be accepted by some.

I want to thank those that gave constructive answers since I was hoping to get the community imput on this. It's a sad state of affairs that any slave needs to have their IM's off because of a trouble maker and mine has been instructed to place the person on ignore and anyone that deems it necessary to IM him instead of coming to me with their complaints about me. As a slave it isnt his place to handle that BS.

Someone please show me where this thread is about that other Free person doing this. I have been wracking my brain and I can't remember anything about it.

Torrie? Please post the thread you're talking about, I haven't the first clue here. (knowing me, it's probably a thread I posted on ffs and forgot)

too funny... who is trying to start trouble here? torrie, as usual, posts this how long after the fact? i had a serious question. if he is new, and not torrie herself, he wouldnt know her past or how she operates. im not stalking your slave for crying out loud, i asked a question, and that was that. no need to put me on ignore, i have no plans to im him again. lol. yer too much, woman
as usual, you have made a mountain out of a molehill. next time you think to set protocol for goreans, remember where you are

-wonders how a simple question turned into a "bashing session"-

All Torrie asked was a simple question. It shouldn't matter who, what, when, where, or how. If one wants to answer the question then do so, why start BS.

-wonders why Gor turned to S@#t-

she didnt ask a simple question. she was trying to stir ****by bring9ing up something that happened weeks ago. she then made up protocol that doesnt exist to back her question.then she started im'ing people to tell them who it was. if she was truly just concerned with the facts, and keeping the persons name out of it, then she wouldnt have gone to the trouble to im or email someone to give them that info. but then again, her cronies will find some way to justify it.
