| Tryp | Why do you need it? posted on: 3/2/2007 9:03:49 AM Over the past several days, I've read a few thought provoking posts as well as a few statements that tells me a number of us are bothered by recent events. Why do you need Gor in your tags or title? Why do you think the addition of that word Gorean this or Gorean that is vital to you? Do you hunt? Do you trade? Do you travel for trade? Do you form alliances with other cities? Does that princess on your lap or at your feet know how to serve or greet the Free? Does the princess pick and choose who she will show respect to even down to bothering to greet a man's FC or any other Free that enters your home? Is your city/home tagged to the enth degree thus protecting you from any possible risk or danger? Have you bothered to actually learn your role? Or are you one of those infants who picks only the chocolates you like out of the box? Do ya poke your finger in each piece to make sure you don't have to eat one you don't like? Don't want to take the risk of gettin that black licorice jellied one huh? Gor should be just like that, Forest. Like a box o chocolates...never know what yer gonna get. Are you one of those people who have taken the mystery, the thrill, the exhilarating potential dangers out of Gor? Are you one of those scared people who have left the rest of us with those damn black licorice jellied chocolates? Again, why do you need it? |

Why do you need it?
replied on: 3/2/2007 12:42:07 PM Well I use tags in my rooms as well as my ID.In my rooms it is used to display what room you are in,like say ooooo,some subbie enters reads room tags,ooo this is a Gorean home,which allows any entering to know what type of room he or she is in. Most subbies who enter read the tags then poof from the room as fast as they entered...laughs. Now as for my ID, I show it with pride,yes i know i am Gorean and is my right to have it displayed in my ID...enuff said. I do travel yes,even hunt at times.As for trading,well of course I do. I never did like chocolates a lot and why one reason I always left them for you. Like now,sets down full case help yourself,but dont forget to watch your weight...laughs harder. |

Why do you need it?
replied on: 3/2/2007 1:32:41 PM *sits gorging on chocolates and commences to reply to Ete with a chocolate ring around ma mouth* I'm talking about the ones who don't do any of that..ever, yet sit in cities and homes like great Gorean masters with their simpering little subby princess and lap dogs. Masters of what? I'm talking about people who self-righteously call themselves Goreans, play with their subby princesses, play hard nosed mistress to their boy toys who 9 times outa 10 are nothing more than D/s pain sluts, but you will never see em role playing with anyone. You will never see them make travel arrangements to form alliances or trade agreements. You will never see them take any risks at all. In fact, you will never see them leave the safety of their pages. Some Goreans, somewhere, had to hunt to provide food, leather, skins; they had to mine for metals or stones or gems. Someone had to travel to trade for those things they did not have in their home cities or towns. In an online role play environment, someone has to move somewhere, perform some kind of activity, indulge in some kind of interaction. If not..THERE IS NO ROLE PLAY. Like now. Whats the answer? I dunno. I think, like some others, that we have allowed Gorean standards to be watered down, made mockery of by people who have not a clue but want that tag in their ID for some unknown reason. Hence my question. Why do you need it? Why do you need that tag in your ID as an identifier of something you are not? Does that tag, Gorean, make you feel strength you don't have? Why not just sit your ass on some safe flowerly little D/s page with yer girlies fawning all over you...like yea..rent's paid. Consider that if you ARE one of those people, the Goreans around you know you are. The tags are meaningless. You are taking up space and claiming cities better left to Goreans who don't live in fear in a freaking online role play environment. This has become a rant for me, yaano that doncha. |

replied on: 3/6/2007 2:16:47 AM I think that has been the biggest reason why I have a hard time staying around in Gor is the TAG BS I think it is gay and whoever started it was even gayer.. I have used tags before but that was in my bedroom where I would hope not to get stabbed while banging like a rabbit... asfar as the rest of my place it was always open for attack I am not saying I was perfect but I was myself and always was open to roleplay as I sound like a broken record things need to change and I do hope it does soon I have been waiting for over a year for things to do such I was hopeing when the council was made that was going to be the bit of light at the end of the tunnel and it ended up fizzleing..... Drop the tags, interact with those even tho you wish not to role play with them I am sure in the book there was those who interacted with others in just respect alone. get the role play going and drop the bs and things will be like it once was...
