Before someone takes a pot shot at what I'm about to say, think on it. The major problem we have experienced over time is people tearing down others on the boards but not participating in chat. I dont think names need to be mentioned because most know who they are.

It puzzles me what interest people of another chat have with what's going on in halsoft Gor these days. Are they "playing" in multiple chats? Why hang onto something in halsoft they have left behind for another chat. If one isnt going to spend the time to build and help the community thrive again, move on and let someone else do it that really has the interest in this chat.

Where is the registry now being kept for Halsoft Gor and by who? If everyone is so interested in keeping things going and reestablish the Halsoft community of Gor, stick around and keep the things from other chats out of it. Concentrate on our community. If your only interest is to knock down the Gorean community here in halsoft, then leave. Your not needed here.

Board critics are not worth listening to as all they are doing is tearing down what some are trying to build back up. Think positive and perhaps this community might make it back.

I don't know if Beast has kept the registry up or not, or who has if he isn't. (if that made sense).

Personally, I think it creates a big headache, both for the people who have tried in the past to organize lands and claims, as well as those looking for homes to settle.

I've never claimed a whole region, city, town or island. I've always simply managed my own home, content to let others deal with the mess of being an Administrator.

Beast is the third person that has tried the land registry. Haskon and myself were before him and your right, it's a huge headache but necessary for those seeking open territory to settle in. Here's the problem..very few want to cooperate but are first in line to be critics. Some guidelines needed to be in place but no one was willing to work on it. Haskon and I tried for a long time to get people together on solutions to our dilema because our hands were tied. Beast made some decisions based on the general concensus of people posting but was criticized and put down for it. The old addage of "damned if you do, damned if you dont".

A registry needs to be posted for halsoft Gor and guidelines set down for it. No exceptions should be made because they are a friend. The old double standard has to be kept out of it.

Here is my proposal. Set guidelines that everyone is willing to follow and then ask someone to create the registry and keep it up. Everyone cooperating in formation and acceptance of the information being posted.

The person keeping the registry needs to be a member of halsoft Gor and devote their time to this chat and no other.

Any ideas people?

If there were a way to even get a clear majority of people to agree to a set standard, then that would be a great start. I hold out little hope that it can be achieved soon though.

More simply my way would be to list the lands that are available only. It's really up to the admin of any location to give notice if they leave or can't keep up the place anymore.

If there's a dispute, land registry has nothing to do with it. The dispute should be between the two (or more) interested parties only. Once it's been decided who controls wot, then the name goes up, so to speak.

My take on it anyway.
