| dbrooks Quote | Reply | | After the Entry Draft: Timetable posted on: 11/20/2006 10:28:15 PM Once the Entry Draft is completed, here’s what will follow: 1. Players that are not drafted will go into the Free Agent Pool (FAP). All teams will be given an opportunity to trade (1 for 1) for these players. Claims will be based on the reverse order of the AHL3 Standings (identical to Rounds 4-5 of the Entry Draft). 2. At any time before Preseason, GM’s can designate their non-update(s) for the forthcoming season. Please refer to the “AHL4 Non-Updates” post to determine player eligibility and the number of non-updates (1 or 2) your team is entitled to. Prior to Preseason, Brad will ask for any remaining designations. 3. ‘Shortly’ before Preseason, all teams will be required to conform to the 3-Goalies roster requirement. At this time, any team with 4-or-more Goalies will be required to trade (or release) the ‘extra(s)’ into the FAP. In turn, teams that are short on Goalies will be required to correct that by making a trade with the FAP. NOTE: At this juncture, all remaining FAP Goalies will be ‘frozen.’ From this point forward, any between-teams trade ‘for’ a Goalie must include getting a Goalie in return. 4. ‘Immediately’ before Preseason—and ONLY then—if teams (due to players going off-disk etc.) have dropped below 24 players, they will be allowed to fill-out their rosters from the FAP. The order of selection will be based on the reverse order of the AHL3 Standings (identical to Rounds 4-5 of the Entry Draft). 5. Preseason will consist of 4 games for each team (2 home, 2 away), one game against each of your division rivals. No team will play twice on the same Day. 6. Prior to the start of the regular season, teams with over 28 players, if unable to reduce their roster through trade(s), will be required to release players into the FAP. 7. In turn, all teams will be required to conform to the ‘other’ roster requirements—14-or-more Forwards, from 7-9 Dmen—that will apply throughout the regular season. Don / Pittsburgh |
