replied on: 5/23/2003 6:11:17 AM By "interested parties" I meant only the NPCs I needed. However, I do want to know the consensus here... do you want an NPC to journey with you? It might be unwise to not have a thief, but, some players don't like having the DM play it. I'm not out to wipe the party clean, as that will happen on its own (hehe, it always does), but, dungeons do have a nasty tendency to have traps. Anyway, the game's actual "realtime" start is not important, as you can post your reactions/actions whenever you can get on. I will post the start of it, probably with each character's start as a separate thread, at least until I can get the party together. Unless... you guys want to work this out yourself OOC? Decide how you met, and so on? I'll leave it to the players, as I don't want "total control." |

As you have no doubt realized by now, I am not an expert on Ravenloft and the only Realm name I know is Sithicus. I know about Strahd and Lord Soth and that is where my knowledge ends...Everytime that I played there, my party was in the Forgotten Realms or Dragonlance or even Birthright and the mist enveloped us and BAM! there we were in Ravenloft. |

replied on: 5/23/2003 6:43:34 AM Sithicus or Invidia is easiest. You may choose. Sithicus is Soth's domain, and dwarves are fairly common there. Invidia is more of an elven-forested place, but both are close to Barovia (Strahd). |

replied on: 5/23/2003 7:06:21 AM Well, as far as I can remember, My Ranger and Twist's Mage are from Sithicus. It may just be easier that your Dwarf is from there as well. About the pre-adventure for all the needed parties, it will probably not be needed if we all came from the same place. Maly, this depends on you. Heh. Where did you want to start from. Oh, and Lobian, yes, it is weird to have the DM playing the Thief, but a Thief is needed for MANY things. I'm all for playing with an NPC as long as the NPC is a PC. I've been playing with you long enough to know that you keep DM and NPC separate. |

It would make things easier if we all knew each other prior, but then I suppose I can still find a way to squeeze a little of the "dwarves don't like elves" bit in even if we do. Just because we "know" eachother doesn't mean that there still can't be the animosity there. We could say that we adventured once and we found out that our "style" worked for all, but we don't necessarily have to be "buddy-buddy". |

Multiply that by alot and you will have my dorf's opinion of elves in general. Yours, however, might be an exception in battle, but the dorf still doesn't trust yours fully. "Never trust an elf!!" |
