[OOC] I thought the moon was always red in Ravenloft? Maybe I was wrong. [End OOC]

[OoC] A red moon in Ravenloft is a VERY bad thing. It doesn't happen often... It would be common knowledge that this doesn't happen often, and has not happened for nearly 200 years. {End OoC]

[OoC] Whatever. You don't even know what kind of moon I'm talking about, or even what time it is... maybe I mean one of the three from Dragonlance, maybe I mean a Blood Moon, maybe I mean a stellar constellation effect... Maybe, it's only happened once, before. You don't have any clue unless I say so. Don't ever presume the "books" know anything. I already told you this. This "game" cannot continue without people posting actions, or me giving them something to do... however, MY actions are limited by YOUR actions. So, I'ts partially my fault. {OoC]

The night darkens, and the wind picks up, flowing through your bones, chilling your spine to numbness. In it, a voice barely echoes, yet is imposible to discern.

Each of you, man, elf, and dwarf, feel a cluthching to your heart, a grasp of doom tightening.

[OOC] Well, when last I posted as Belar, I was looking for a suitable, easily defendable campsite for the night. Only a fool travels at night in Ravenloft. I have been waiting for the DM's response to my last post. However, if you wish to not reply, I shall simply assume that I somehow manage to find the cave I was looking for and camp safely for the night. In which case, I shall continue towards "Man Central" at dawn. [End OOC]

Searching finds a cave, not too large, but sizable for your sleeping. Nothing lives here, and nothing has lived there. The night passes for the dwarf quickly.

[OoC] Wow. A cave. Hehe. Fine. [OoC]

OOC: Duh. Hence the reason I said nothing about it. But I do so enjoy arguing. /OOC

I make camp for the night somewhere secluded and just far off from the road as to not be seen from it, but not so far as to get myself lost. At dawn (provided there is one), I keep trekking forward.

OoC: Really? Nothing. Not even the restraint? Funny. -- OoC

The elf finds a place to stay for the night. Dawn comes, and the sun rises. It is wet, and chilly. Each of you march onward, and find nothing further interesting except the road, as you make your way to the Man City.

It is huge and sprawling, its thick walls easily 10 feet deep. In the distance is a tower rising to kiss the sun, its obsidian motif a splintering eclipse. There are sounds of happiness, joy, and the horrible sound of fun on the inside, echoing throughout. At the front gate, on the west side, stand 4 guards, decked in their royal attire. They watch you as you enter.

Down the road, about 100 paces, stands a sign, with a gathering crowd of similar people. They seem to be discussing something.

Living people huddled around a sign? Intriguing. I approach and read the sign for myself.

As Aranel

Appearently finding nothing of particular interest, I camp for that night, hidden in the treeline, still wary of the journey which lies ahead of me. As dawn breaks, I stretch, taking in the morning air, invigorating, soothing, chilled to perfection.

Noticing that I am closer than I thought to my destination, I smile softly to myself, grateful that I neednot travel such a long distance. Nearing the Man City, I notice a gathering.

Not wanting to disturb the others by forcing my way to the sign in which they have congragated to, I wait patiently, hoping to either over hear something being said, or see the sign by way of seeing over someone's shoulder.

[OOC] Curiousity bids me to ask a question: Is Belar still in possession of the mace, or did he give it to the church to be kept as a "Holy Artifact"? [End OOC]

[OoC] Belar has a mace, but not the one that he used before. The original mace has been stored in the church's divine armory, where they keep all the "blessed weapons." It is a huge honor to have wielded any weapon that was/is placed there, as they record the name of all bearers as a sort of "holy warrior" history. Any children Belar may have will be greatly respected, as is Belar himself. {End OoC]

For those who approached the sign, it seems to be normal, almost like a billboard, only smaller. The letters are in the local language, and in an easy script that even the commoners seem to be "getting." Pushing aside peasant and guard alike, the words form a message: "1,000 Gold Piece Pay! Come to The Mercury Switch and find out more!"

The crowd seems to be talking about it, with the obvious "yeah, rights" and the equally obvious silence, followed by the person taking off in the direction of town, apparently to find this place mentioned.

These are the most obvious reactions, and what everyone discovers.

The Mage: You approached the sign, intent on reading it, to see what the big deal was, and walked past a man draped in a black robe. As you did, you felt an intense coldness rise up your spine. Please make me a Wisdom check at -4 and tell me the result.

The Dwarf: You, too, approached the sign, and got bumped into by an elven woman. Looking up, you see a spiderweb tattoo on her cheek, covering her eye like a patch. At her side, she has an axe, and a nice one at that. She does not notice you, and appears to be reading the sign in total silence.

The Elf: Standing back, you do catch a glimpse off the sign, and through the general conversation around you, you get an idea of what it says. However, about 10 feet in the back, even further behind you, your keen ears pick up the soft lull of a whisper: "but, that place is a thieves' tavern.. we'll be killed."
