Well, everyone starts off somewhere, and it can feel overwhelming at first, but, once you get into it, it's not so bad. Plus, we'll be nice and not hammer you for not knowing all the rules at once. The easiest thing to learn, if you wanted to play, would be D&D 3E, and play a fighter. They're simple, and you'll learn quick. After you get the basics down, you can go to something more "advanced" like a Rogue or something. The spellcasters tend to be the hardest because they have the most options.
