Personally, I make all my rogues different. With the skills and feats, you can customize him to be exactly what you want.

You want an Acrobat? There are wonderful skills... Tumble, Balance, Perform.

You want a Con-Artist? Forgery, Gather Information, Sense Motive, Innuendo, Bluff.

You want a Dungeon Delver/Cat-Burglar? Search, Spot, Listen, Climb, Open Lock, Disable Device.

So, as you can see, its highly cusomtizable to your needs and wants as a class.
