Quite an island of contrasts...Ridiculous natural beauty, crowded cities, locals who seemingly trash their own local spots, rampent petty theivery, etc. We had some excellent snorkeling in perfect temp water. We spotted and had a great time checking out cuttle fish, octopus, some eels, etc. The North shore was amazingly calm...quite a difference from what I've seen during the winter at Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach. |

I pretty much agree with your description, but I thought Honolulu was actually kind of a nice place. Drew, you might relate to this: my aunt (SoCal born and bred) is trying to leave Hawaii and move back to California--she misses her home state. |
