replied on: 1/30/2003 3:49:40 AM how about Pension Frank that is listed in the new Let's Go Europe. It seems like it might be a bit closer to the action than the train station but I have no idea... would really love some direction on this, danke! |

replied on: 1/30/2003 6:39:16 AM e v--The Hauptbahnhof is the train station. Schwabing is an interesting area. Not right in the middle of the most vaunted downtown tourist sites, but not bad at all. Public transport is excellent, so with that location you can either walk or take tram/subway around pretty easily. Can't recommend a place to stay as we didn't like the place we stayed. |

replied on: 2/10/2003 11:23:32 AM I stayed at Hotel Deutches Theater on Landwehrstrass. Not too far south of the train station and fairly close to Marienplatz. Nice hotel. The walk there is a bit seedy with all of the strip clubs and computer parts stores but not a big deal at all. Very clean, secure and the mini bar in the room was cheap. Doner Kebaps everywhere! |

replied on: 10/20/2003 1:43:41 PM I've read that Bavarian Hostels have a strict 26-yr old or under restriction. I think I've also read that 4 You in Munich does not have the same restriction. Maybe I read wrong. I emailed the place and they asked for my date of birth...I'm getting the impression that I have to be under 26 yrs. I'm 30 yrs old. Am I too old and out of luck? Anyone know for sure? |

replied on: 10/20/2003 5:15:21 PM Generally it's the HI owned hostels that have the age restrictions. The independent ones don't and 4 You sure as heck didn't when I was there 3 years ago. (either that or my roommates lied.) They might just want age for room placement. |
