replied on: 11/7/2003 8:49:38 PM Not only has the GGGGGG GG sign cost a fortune and never worked it has now contributed to the death of a motorist. Happy Mr Bore? |

replied on: 11/11/2003 12:15:20 PM do u think the guy who died on the A45 was trying to work out what the sign was saying? Maybe it is like that sign in that steve martin film where it starts talking to him. ooh very final destination!! |

replied on: 11/17/2003 12:19:46 AM GGGGGGGGGGGGG - Graveyard! You sick little young people. Look what you've incited an innocent pensioner to do! You ought to be ashamed of yourselves! I'm going to write to Prince William about this web site. I won't write to Harry because I have my suspicions that he's one of the main contributors. |

replied on: 9/26/2004 11:19:39 AM Since it killed someone it has been untouched and stands at an odd angle with a bunch of flowers rotting in the wreckage. The city seems to function very well without it. I think the £100000 pounds that it cost were justified by saying it would help the millions of visitors find Millennium Pointless. |

replied on: 9/26/2004 11:25:00 AM There was a similar GGGGGG GGGGGGG (and so forth) electronic sign on the Hagley round a few months ago. Obviously Small Heath is somewhat behind the times. Henry Rollins impressed me once with his use of the term 'Midlands.' Southerners can't seem to gather the fact that anything outside of their fatherland isn't 'northern,' so for an American to understand this is really quite noteworthy. |

replied on: 9/26/2004 12:43:43 PM California and the Hollywood contained therein are not in the midwest. I'm just impressed that he could apply the term accurately, even if the context in which he did apply it was 'ugly midlands motherfuckers such as yourselves.' |

replied on: 9/27/2004 6:49:28 PM Seems a bit harsh. I'm ugly because of my parents, not because I'm from the Midlands. If Mr. Rollins wasn't built like a brick shithouse I'd give him a dig. |

replied on: 9/27/2004 8:53:15 PM quote: Rollins is certainly no brick shithouse - more a plastic portaloo. Found myself standing next to him when he was doing some signing session at the old Swordfish on Needless Alley back in the early '90s, and I was greatly unimpressed with his diminutive stature. Had I been aware that the only thought drifting through his head at this time of unbridled worship and devotion was "Ugly Midlands Motherfuckers" I'd have twatted him with one of the racks of 7" singles that used to sit on the counter in those days. (For the record I'm 6ft 2". The worst Rollins could have done to me had I twatted him was bite my nipples off.) |

replied on: 9/28/2004 1:54:40 PM I, too, was amazed at how short the fella was, but he's about twice as wide across the shoulders as he is tall so I think we can possibly let him off. He wasn't being genuinely Midland-ist, or indeed facial-ist. It was all in the name of banter. |
