One commentator has even suggested that their music should be used by the "psy-ops" department of the American military to psychologically torture suspected terrorists. Yes, it's THAT good. Check out their album "When Fire Rains Down From The Sky," recorded at Necrodeath Studios in the Jewellery Quarter. Makes Slayer sound like S-Club Juniors. |

replied on: 10/9/2003 4:21:31 PM The newly named S-club 8 make my ears rain in blood! In fact it makes me wonder if God hates us all. I love the chance to pun. In fact, if forced to spend any time with the little tykes' terrifyingly bad 'music', I start to long for the Angel of Death. Is that actually a pun? Apparently the Mistress album is extreme too. Nice to see Brum's metal scene is alive. |

replied on: 10/9/2003 5:38:15 PM Yes, Brum's metal scene is indeed alive. Just this Saturday I attended a brand new extreme metal night at the Royal George in Digbeth featuring 3 really superb extreme bands - and all for just £3. (incidentally, the Nathrakh and Mistress vocalist Dave C**t was in the audience) Unfortunately the lad who organizes it is a neo-Nazi - but hopefully the power of metal can transcend such juvenile "politics." |

replied on: 10/9/2003 6:52:49 PM Is their name Klingon for something? I think I've figured out what 'anaal' means ('anal'), but I'm not sure about 'nathrakh' - possibly 'seepage'. |

replied on: 10/9/2003 10:47:20 PM I think I read somewhere that the name Anaal Nathrakh comes from one of those Arthurian sword & sorcery epics, where it's used as an incantation to summon-up a dragon - this presumably being some kind of metaphor for the power of the music. The meaning that you've guessed at would probably be more appropriate for a Carcass-influenced goregrind band. |
