Whats the best bus route for freaks?
replied on: 3/2/2008 11:34:57 PM

That's no excuse for trying to talk to me on the bus though.

Bus time is sacred. I'm there to try and hold off the anger at forced physical contact with the person next to me in exchange for speedy travel to my den of intiquity. Not, dear christ, talk to people. If I wanted to talk, I wouldn't glare out of the window sitting at the back on the engine seat with my headphones just slightly topping the noise.

Anyway, this bloke wasn't a tramp, or if he was he'd gotten it entirely wrong.

My favourite thing about tramps is how they camp next to cash machines. Because, natrually, upon seeing their plight, I'm going to hand out a wad of twenties warm from the cash oven.

Your underground theory would explain how I keep seeing the Sad Fag Bumming Bloke everywhere around Birmingham. It might also explain where the Father Jack from around Moseley Village look alike dispeared to. I heard he died, but I doubt death could keep a girm grip on a man so violently drunk.

i recently had the pleasure of catching the 54 from terminus to town and i have to shake my head at how people are on busses.

Why do old folk tut and stare if you are on the bus during the day, looking you up and down accusingly of being some kind of sponger! (i was on holiday from work at the time but anyway)

why do kids insist on playing shit music loudly on the bus? it doesnt make you look hard it just shows waht bad taste you have in music. whats with people taking dogs on busses and then moaning when asked to hget the animal of the chair? not everyone wants to sit in a dog fur coat you know.

and why do certain people get on the bus and think that they are to good to pay bus fair?

all this in one journey!

The 14 takes some beating. You say:

Bus time is sacred.
Well bus time for me on the 14, particularly as it passes through the picturesque environs of Alum Rock and Kitts Green, is scared, not sacred.

I once sat next to a black youth on the no 14 bus and all he kept doing was sucking his teeth. Very intimidating.

Maybe he had a bit of food trapped between his teeth?
I once went out with a bloke who said he was going to take me out on a "surprise" date - having no idea what was ahead I dressed up for the occasion - turned out that the date was a a round trip of Birmingham on the number 11 route - I got off at Bearwood and promptly ended our affair!

Father Jack does undoubtedly bear a striking resemblance to how I imagine Mickey Greaney will look in a few years hence. That is, of course, if he lives that long - which I sincerely doubt. Drink, feck and gays (not girls) appears to be Greaney's mantra at present - what a coincidence!
