replied on: 11/26/2004 6:29:43 PM quote: Has that Nazi nut on corner of Brook Lane and Yardley Wood Road in Billesley not been mentioned? His house a frightful sight at the best of times and is festooned with St Georges flags AND Santas, lights etc. A couple of years ago all these OTT xmas lights caused a powercut by us for several hours, the electrical generator just couldn't cope. I'd quite like that to happen again. And fingers should be pointed! His name is Jelly. They are the Jellies. |

replied on: 11/30/2004 9:44:52 AM Yes, the Brook Lane/Yardley Wood Road house lights are in full flow now, although there is a young pretender just across the road... At least it means they take down their nationalist paraphenalia for a while... |

replied on: 11/28/2005 8:50:32 AM well december is just round the corner so im expecting a big tat light explosion on the meadway and the wood. have so far seen a lot of houses with lights up but not yet on. some of them look like they may be opened by a celebrity due the amount of lights!! Lets make this the BiNS way of taking back xmas from the birmingham winter festival or whatever they decided to call it this year. |

replied on: 12/2/2005 11:52:43 AM have been away with work this week but im glad to say that i was not disappointed by the high level tat lights turn on upon my return. My only concern is that although its december 2nd now we still havent got the full light effect of the meadway yet. That said the 97 bus route is about 45 mins end to end of migraine inducing xmas lights. show the world how much you love xmas and spend all your money on lights for outside your house. |

replied on: 12/4/2005 12:58:40 AM Check out the scary elf lurking around Santa's grotto in Chamberlaine Square. God knows what the kiddies make of him. Like something from a bad DMT trip. |

replied on: 12/9/2005 11:15:33 PM There's a house up by us in Quinton half way along a quiet little residential road that no one would ever go along unless they lived there, were delivering post, picking up bin bags or selling cult religion, with all the fancy lights and giant freaky snowmen that billow about on the roof for a week but then deflate by December 18th and get left there till mid-February, etc, and there's a big sign in the garden with the days and times that Santa will be there. How sad is that? You know what we ought to do? Encourage thousands of them chavs to queue up all down his road, with screaming children in buggies demanding a gift and hundreds of those single mums with the glittery thongs on that ride up their fat bums above their jeans when they bend over to wallop the baby. And they could trample all over the stupid idiot's garden and scratch the Rover 400 that he's pretending to be a sleigh. Someone needs to tell these people, Santa don't live in a semi detached house in Quinton, he lives in Finland! Bloody prat. |

replied on: 12/13/2005 1:29:21 PM glad to see with just under 2 weeks to go that people have started to take their tat to the next level. barrows lane in sheldon has the usual eye burners but the house just down from the white hart needs a special mention. catch the 97 and marvel at the electric being burned and count the near misses from people distracted by the lights. god i love xmas !!! |

replied on: 12/13/2005 2:22:01 PM Noddy Holder's top 10 christmas pop songs. That show has become as much of an annual festive event as the Slade song itself. In a couple of years time we'll have Roy Wood looking back on all the great TV reminiscent shows about Christmas pop songs. "...and at number 3, we have that marvellous show hosted by Noddy Holder in which he celebrated his famous song of 1973 which knocked my song off the top of the hit parade". Bing Crosby's widow looked a bit weird too... a case of plastic surgery meets Psycho. |
