Where's Mitton? Have the computers at the library gone down?

He's still alive and functioning - it's just that the voddy binges have been getting closer together over the past few months.
Also his sanity (relative, I know) has become slightly suspect just lately, as evidenced by him shouting at me recently: "You don't know what's going on, man: You don't hear the VOICES!" - like I'm really missing out on something.
Apparently the voices are saying such things as "let's go, sambo!" and seem to be portending some kind of race war.
Helter-Skelter, as that other Charlie would have it.

He always seems to bounce back though, and when I last spoke to him on Sunday he sounded every bit as sane as me.

The 'Stress were good fun on Thursday night.

Going back a few posts, I saw Narcosis at Eddies in February and didn't quite agree with the general post-sliced-bread-based-approval. They just seemed to me to be another band making a row but conveying no emotion through it.

The Buzzcocks episode has been filmed and will be broadcast on BBC2 on Boxing Day. As a result of this, Drunk now has dancehall deejay General Levy's number in his phone. The world continually turns out to be a stranger place than it was the previous week.

Guns, murder, mayhem, the army on the streets... what else was what happened last night if not some kind of race war?

Maybe Charlie don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows after all.

I do know that he was down at the Boot Market today and found yet another copy of 'The Lost Provinces'that contains an inventory of coincidences already catalogued. Also another copy of ' The Fall of Paris' by Alistair Horne. The Paris Commune of that time fuelled much of the counter cultural strategies of '60s Ladbroke Grove and was witnessed by Rimbaud. It must be acknowledged how seminal the gutter poet was in inspiring our contemporary decadence. Its seriousness flounders in all this easily recuperable quagmire of technological noise. What would Shakespeare made of these portents?

Surely it's matey's cataloguing of Mitton's utterances that have produced a real non-euclidean geometry. As such it is very relevant to what is being argued on the Mitton threads.Like the finding of the London bomber in B'ham and then the South Side tornado,it appeared that a synchronicity romanticized the events. The events are unrelated, illogical.Their subjective nature acts as a critique in themselves of the Sokal 'Social Text' piece put up by Gravy Hole. For that reason I am about to cut and paste these contributions and put them on the Mitty site. This is science, man.

I'll do my sexy necromancy thing and resurrect this thread for a Public Service Announcement.

As posted by one of the band on www.thecommunion.co.uk (where the drinks are cold, jokes are told, and the girls are at least sixteen years old):

Download is one of these Young Person's Popular Music Festivals (you know, those things in the summer where they all end up catching trench foot and dysentary). It's on the traditional site of the erstwhile Donnington festivals and is considered quite the big deal for bands of the metal persuasion.

Download is the only festival I've attended where courtesy and good naturedness is guaranteed. Is this "mistress" of whom you speak a good natured courteous creature? She sounds nice.

Hell, I deserved it.

See you at the Anaal Nathrakh gig, Russ (it will probably be best if I don't stalk in plain view down the front where Dave C. can get at me though).

I think you can stalk at intermediate range without any trouble. You won't need to hide.

The Never Mind The Buzzcocks xmas special with Mistress is now on tonight rather than Boxing Day. I get the feeling this will bring the comedy. It's on BBC2 at 9:40pm.

If you're that way inclined, they're also playing at the Medicine Bar as part of Capsule promotions' xmas gig tomorrow. It's a fiver, and will be incredibly debauched. I'll see to that.

Well somebody will have to bring it, as it certainly won't be those totally unfunny so-called comedians Lamar and Jupitus - the smug creeps (although admittedly the droll stoner humour of Bill Bailey can occasionally engender a chuckle).

Anyway, I gather that you can watch the broadcast in the company of Mistress themselves at Scruffy Murphy's tonight - although of course that unfortunate bit of post-Mayhem gig nonsense I was involved in there obviously precludes me from attending.
I'll definitely be seeing them at the Capsule party tomorrow though.

I like Lamar. I like him more when he's allowed to be spontaneous than when he's delivering the more obviously pre-scripted stuff, though. I don't think he prosecutes that very well.
