It seems to me that rather than be allowed to say what you realy feel most people just say nothing. This i feel is because there are so many of the looney left about that anybody whose opinion isn't mainstream is jupmed upon and criticised.Take this site as an example, its ok to call somebody a nazi because they don't agree with you but you say something about gays ?.Surely were supposed to have free speech,or is that free speech thats politically correct and doesn't rock the boat.I'm not going to appologise for my views, why should i ?.

If you can't say what you want then having sites like this is just pointless.

As far as I'm concerned it should be each to their own, everybody is entitled to their own opinion (and mine) whether other people agree with it or not.

What I do object to is people trying to force their beliefs and opinions onto everybody else as if what they think is right. Now I'm not just talking about people on this board, I mean everywhere. The people that piss me off most in the world are the ones who get paid to criticise everything, from books to movies, how can one persons opinion tell you whether something is good or bad?

Same with this gay debate, maybe you don't like it, doesn't mean to say it's wrong. It's not as if they are harming you in anyway, in fact I've found gay men that I've spoken to are far more honest and open than straight guys. There's no macho brovado, it's just like having a really good girl friend (but you use the same toilets when you're out).

Feel free to express you're veiws on here and don't let anyone change your opinions, just think how dull the world would be if we all thought the same.

Lastly. Has anyone noticed that if a gay guy tells a straight guy that he is queer, the straight guy always says "I'm not like that." As if the gay guy wants to hop in the sack with him?

Try going up to a girl and say "Hey, I'm straight." See what happens, I'd be interested in the results.

I don't agree with your point of view but I defend your right to say it. However, where you let yourself down badly is your total failure to back up your view with any facts, explanation or methodology.

For example, you could say, "I respect gays as people but dislike some of their practices, such as cottaging, on moral grounds....etc". We could then have a proper debate on the pro's and con's. But oh no, all you do is make bald statements and then criticise those who flare up at you.

Frankly I've had more rewarding conversation with the wall than with you. You are a thick tw at.

Shouldn't that be bold statements? I've never actually tried shaving a statement before, would you be able to show me how next time I'm over there? Or was it just a spilling mostacke?

I'm in France tomorrow. Should I call by and drop some drugs off to you? My drug of choice is St John's wort. Apparently it help St John while away the hours talking to the wall whilst his head was on that platter.

Hey rachey, is it pronounced St John's or Sinjen's? He said harking back to the Mickey St John Greaney post here. This was something that was never answered to my proper satisfaction.

Oscar Wilde was treated unjustly
replied on: 3/12/2004 10:13:46 PM

Shit. I meant to not post anything in this thread. A silent protest suggesting that being mean to people isn't big or clever. Must be then, since here I am. But then my mind became cast upon my favourite play. So I may as well witter about that forraminitt. Wilde's Salome. Head on prophet. Head removed from Prophet's shoulders. Head on platter. Head in princess' knickers. Does drama get any better than that? Not when Berkoff's at the helm, I can tell you.

Oh, don't be like that, drink-to-be-drunk. If you have reasons, and they are sound reasons, then I'm sure it's in our best interests to hear them, isn't it? Maybe you're right and we're all wrong, but we'll never know unless you tell us, will we?

If you didn't want to debate the subject, by the way, why didn't you just keep your opinions to yourself?
