replied on: 3/29/2004 3:34:05 PM You can't say somewhere is rubbish because it is the 'least gay'. Does that mean, then, that San Francisco is the most fantastic city on Earth? There are lots of reasons not to like Solihull, but to dislike it because there is a lack of 'gayness' is a tad petty. |

replied on: 3/29/2004 6:26:55 PM quote: I didn't say that I dislike Solihull because there is a lack of 'gayness', but Solihull's lack of 'gayness' may be why there are lots of reasons to dislike it. According to this research (which replicates a number of others with the same findings), there is plenty of evidence to suggest that places with a higher ratio of gay people are more cosmopolitan, vibrant, creative, tolerant, culturally productive, attract more business, have less crime, etc. On the basis of the gay and non-gay places I've visited, I must say that I'm inclined to agree. |

replied on: 3/29/2004 6:58:38 PM Solihull is full of false people anyway, whether they be closet homosexuals or nouveau riche (with corrected spelling, cheers Peaky), if a lot of them admitted they were gay then the town might be a much nicer place, either that or it'd drive all the stuck up, homophobes out of the area and knock the house prices down. Sounds like a win-win situation to me, incidentally, guess where I'll be staying in 2 weeks time? |

replied on: 3/30/2004 10:16:02 AM quote: LOL. These are precisely the words my Grandad used to describe people from Sutton. "Them folk from Sutton are toffee-nosed bleeders, all kippers and curtains". He then used to go on and imitate them thus; "Hif you doe tek the ferret cage hout the back winder hov the Zephyr, love, weel never be hallowed hinto the golf club." I think he hated just about every man jack of them. |

replied on: 3/30/2004 1:54:45 PM quote: eh? Solihull is a beacon for drug dealers or that even the most parochial cack hole in this country has more dealers than the entire of Holland? Imagine Birmingham's first Amsterdam style cafe opening its doors in Solihull. That'd be quite funny actually! Hey, in olde english / latin / whatever - does hull mean cack? Cos Hull isn't upto much either. We may have sommat here... |

replied on: 3/30/2004 2:52:38 PM I think now is the time to sever all ties with this pariah district. Solihull is not part of Birmingham, never has been and never will be. It has nothing to do with us. All Brummies who go to live in Solihull should be excommunicated. We should set up some sort of trade embargo too. Solihull has never given us anything. Let's watch the snobby fascist homophobes waste away. |

replied on: 3/30/2004 3:07:25 PM What is the proper term for people from Solihull? I know there's 'wanker' but I'm in interested to find out the proper term. Toffee nosed tossers who put a sheet of newspaper under the cuckoo clock and get out of the bath to have a píss! But the Land Rover plant does employ a lot of Brummies. Not as much as it used to, though. |
