This is so true. My mate used to live in Solihull and we would both marvel at the amount of gorgeous ladies roaming the streets. Does Solihull = money = better looking wives = better looking offspring?!

That's probably it...but it seems to go full circle when you reach the levels of the super rich and aristocracy. Look at the Royal Family, even Di's noble genes haven't saved William from the Windsor's damaged, inbred, six fingered gene pool and at just 24 is already mutating into a monster.

You can't tell me Diana was a good-looking woman! Wouldn't give her a second glance if she passed me in the street. (Well, her ghost might cause me to do a double-take.)
And I don't care if she had supposed class or presence. Give me a cute face over that anyday!

"Remember that edgbaston is full of studio apartments. most people call them bedsits!"

kingshurst phil or whatever your name is, i have been looking at this site from time to time, but never really felt the need to react to what anyone had written. it was all just a bit of fun, and a great read.

however, i feel i need to help you with your ignorance of the nicer parts of the city. the site is called birmingham -it's not shit, yet you straight away try to reduce the better part of the city to something common and working class.

this is one of the things that is wrong with the city, that people from the less well off neighbourhoods like yourself seem to think that you can even the class divide by making crazy claims against us more well off types in Edgbaston, Solihull etc.

you could only dream of some of the mod cons in these places, and would simply look on in marvel at my fitted kitchen, beautiful marble affect bathroom, my walk in wardrobe and my indoor toilet (yes, we have them in doors in Edgbaston). so can we maintain a certain level of maturity, and not hate me because i live in an area that is as far away from you, as Narnia is to the everyday man....

thank you.

I'm confused by several aspects of what's going on here.

Solihull is a horrible place.

It is home to posh goths attempting to rebel against their parents. Then in competition with them, you have Chelmsley Wood chavs looking for a place to loiter. Throw in all the ones that stand outside the Touchwood at 5 O'Clock and you have a big melting pot full of arseholes.

The only saving grace is the gorgeous girls that are there. Although, a lot of these have a terrible solihull accent that would be off putting even if Angelina Jolie had it.

Edgbaston isnt nice. Having lived and worked in the area before im amazed that you think living in the B15 post code makes you superior. there is a lot of wealthy people who live there. At the same time there are many many shit hole bedsits that people have to rent because there is no where cheaper.

Birmingham its not shit. Edgbaston is though

so is your main moan that there arent enough locals?

Where do the people of solihull shop then? are they all up birmingham city centre in the bull ring (or bullring if you prefer).

The only reason im dragging this out is because i take offence that it is assumed that because i dont live in a studio apartment in edgbaston or a standard 3 bed in solhiull or sutton that im some how less worthy. its one of those situations really. do you live in a shit house in a nice part of town or a nice house in a shite part of town. Toilets in] doors. They must be pretty small toilets, or pretty big doors.

The mind positively boggles at the vulgarity of these 'arrivistes' from the Edgbaston and Solihull suburbs...

The 'nouveau riche' betray themselves the moment they have the audacity (and foolhardiness) to attempt to engage in discourse: who else but the child of a shopkeeper or estate agent would even entertain the notion of attempting to brag (in public!) about home furnishings?

And how sad it is to see such a tawdry suburb as Solihull (with its 'burger bars' and 'pound shops') encroaching on the sweeping rape fields and gently undulating hills of the county of Warwickshire where my family keep their country seat...
