He's coming home
He's coming home
He's coming
Expat's coming home....

That's right, I've just booked the ferry after giving the stooge on P and O's phoneline an ear bashing, so I'll be back in Blighty in about 2 weeks :)

Can't wait.

If you happen to see a silver, Honda HRV with the driver on the wrong side it'll probably be me.

Just a holiday, and to go to memorabilia at the NEC

He won't be there unfotunately, he keeps being snubbed by the other Daleks.

One thing that cracked me up the last time I went: It was on the same weekend as the Good Food show and in order to get to that you had to pass the memorabilia hall, which meant all these old biddies that wanted to see Jamie Oliver had to fight their way passed Stormtroopers, Klingons and Batman amongst others to get there. Some of them were quite shaken afterwards.

Imagine that, being rattled by nerds in silly costumes when they can sit on a bus full of nutters without batting an eyelid.

When exactly is the memorabilia show? Who's going to be there? Last time there were A-listers like Boycie from 'Only Fools' and 'Man in helmet' from 'Blake's 7', and David Soul, charging a tenner for his autograph. Is he hard up, or what?

Yes, he signed away his rights to Hutch years ago (whilst drunk) & now lives off royalties from radio replays of "Silver Lady". Give him the tenner!

NB The BBC also sold off the rights to the Daleks*, so you won't be seeing them opposing hardnut actor Christopher Eccleston in any forthcoming Dr Who adventures...

17th and 18th of April, check their website for who's going to be there, it's also featuring sporty types now like some of the 1966 England squad. There's usually some big(ish) names from Star Wars, James Bond and Red Dwarf, Ingrid Pitt's almost always there. Last time I saw Dirk Benedict (Face from the A-Team if you didn't know) And I think Brian Blessed will be there as well.

God! I sound like a fúcking advert for the place.

Brian Blessed! The man is a fúcking hero! He is to shouting what Péle is to football! The fact that he's there is enough to get me going to the exhibition.
Look out for me, I'm the speccy one buying comics. You should be able to tell me from the other geeks because I don't smell of píss and B.O.

Are you going on the Saturday or Sunday? I've booked my ticket for the Sunday, 10 fúcking quid for it; then £6 for parking, they might as well point a gun at you while you pay it.

Just had a look at the website and as well as the others I mentioned, you can also see: Colin Baker (curly Dr Who), Warwick Davies (the little guy from Willow),ooo, and someone who played a Jawa in Star Wars, I bet he'll be popular. There's also a few footballers there like Jack Charlton, Geoff Hurst and Gordon Nisbet (no idea who any of them are, not into football meself).

Anyway, I'm not being paid by these people so they'd better appreciate this, and like I said, I'll be there on the Sunday hunting for Transformers, trading cards and comics.

If you think I'm going to sniff every geek fitting that description you can forget it, carry a flag or something.

Shame on you!! Fancy not knowing who bleedin' Geoff Hurst is! 1966? 4-2? West Germany? Hat-trick? Ring any bells?
Jack Charlton was in the team with him.
I've no clue, however, who Gordon Nisbet is. I've looked at Google, and there was someone at Plymouth Argyle under that name, but why anyone in Brum is interested in him is beyond me.
Warwick Davies was also 'Wicket' in 'Return of the Jedi' as well. He's in Harry Potter as 'Professor Flitwick', so I might be able to convince my daughters to come with me.
"Endure hours of boredom, waiting for me to finish looking at comics, and you can meet a celebrity midget!!"
"Hooray!! Brilliant, Dad!! Count us in!!"

It'll be easy to spot me, I'll be the one dragging two bored female kiddies around the comic stalls. They'll probably asking loudly for the toilet or a drink.

I'm kidding, I know who Jeff Hirst is *snigger*, I probably couldn't spot him in a line up but I know why he's famous. According to Memorabilia's website, that Nisbet bloke played for Albion at some point, he probably wasn't very good so you'll likely find him next to the guy that played a Jawa.

I'm still trying to plan out what to do when I come over, so far Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday are sorted Monday and Tuesday are a bit up in the air but I have no clue what to do on the Friday, any suggestions?

If that seems a little odd it's because I come over on the Thursday and come home on the Wednesday, the bit in between is what's officially known as a holiday.

Hurrah!

All the tickets have arrived so I'm just about ready to come home :)

I can't wait, Cadbury's chocolate available everywhere, chip shops, people that speak English (almost), driving on the left, traffic, books and magazines in English. Sheer heaven.

Incidentally, I think next Friday I might be taking myself up to Lichfield so I can go back to my old workplace to hear the words "Oh yeah, I remember you." Bastards! I worked there for 6 fúcking years and do you think any of them can be arsed to keep in touch?

Anyway, last bit of news about Memorabilia, Eliza Dushku will be there, so there's another reason to go (if you're a Buffy fan).

If you don't want to pay £6 to park there why don't you park at marston green train station for free and get the train ,it's only one stop and takes about 2 minutes..

Cheers for that, I was going to park at B'ham international, it's not free but it's cheaper than £6. However, I've managed to get my brother to drop me off as we're going to Costco afterwards to get all the stuff you can't buy over here.

Oi, I work on the NEC car parks! Stop doing me out of my hard-earned. Well, you didn't think we really put the money in those ridiculous pouches, did you? I can earn more in one day than all you arse-wipes earn in a month.
