It is a capital city and its choice of bars, restaurants etc reflects this in a way that the paltry selection of entertainment venues in Birmingham never will. If you ran out of space in London, why would you bother with putting anything in Birmingham. In the heart of London, people from all over the world can come and celebrate their humanity there without being mugged by racist thugs as was a Jordanian friend of mine only a couple of weeks ago in Birmingham - he was on a fact-finding trip for a tourist agency! I lived happily in Birmingham for the first thirty years of my life. When I moved to London I realised what I had been missing. Londoners never defend themselves or their city; theres no need to; 'When a man is tired of London he is tired of life' as a better man than I once said. Birmingham will always be the palest of imitations of London and the palest of imitations of life compared to the capital. Birmingham isn't crap - it IS second rate just like all the other cities in the UK that arent London. |

I don't know if the muggers here are racist or not but the voters of London certainly are (cf Tower Hamlets et al) |
