| bluenosesol | No Smoking - Bring it on!! posted on: 2/15/2006 2:59:28 PM I can soon go for a meal without being put off by the acrid stench of burning tobacco and stale ash trays and watch my beloved blues without whiffing the awful drifting clouds of choking skunk emanating from the big gob of some weed smoking 2 brain cellar. Thinking about it, I'll also be able to go for a dump, knowing that the bogs wont be engaged by hoards of hiding spliff rollers! - YES!! YES!! |

replied on: 2/20/2006 7:51:02 AM well it was inevitable that a smoking ban will come in to force at some time ( mainly due to the nanny state that we now live in) i can however see this as a crippling blow to most of the night spots on broad street. I cant see many people either stopping smoking or constantly going in and out for a fag. what happens to all the lost revenue from people quiting fags? Isnt it around £2.50-£3.00 a pack mark that is just pure government t revenue. Many people complain that smokers cost the nhs. my argument to you is that smokers contribute daily to the nhs and its people whopo dont drink dont smoke or drive that are a drain on the economy! only kidding but you see my point. i canm imagine broad street will be like xmas for a week or two with every one out for a pint in the new no smoking pubs, then they will get bored and go home. I cant imagine their are that many non smokers who stay away from pubs and clubs because of the smoke. |

replied on: 5/24/2006 11:52:11 PM they're putting heated outdoor seating in a lot of places so that people like bluenosesol can sit outside and complain about the smoke :P |
