Created on a dark stormy Wednesday night in Digbeth "The mathematical explanations behind silly drawings" features influences from every corner of the Graphic Arts universe, including cartoons, manga and graffiti. It's guaranteed to add up to an unmissable event.' Launch Evening Monday 17th April @6pm Exhibition runs from 17th-30th April at the Vaad Gallery, Custard Factory , Gibb St., Digbeth. Basically, I'm one of the exhibitors, so please come along and have a shufty. There's work from famous professionals like John McCrea and Hunt Emerson, who'll both be there on the launch night,as will I, and get there early enough, there may be some free booze. Hopefully, I'll see you there.

I must admit last night was something of an eye-opener for me. Prior to the exhibition, the only artist I was familiar with was Hunt Emerson via his work as the resident cartoonist for Fortean Times and his illustrations for the pamphlets of the local poet and Mitton puncher, Doctor Lester. However, after having a good look at the art (and it is art) on display, I realised that comic cartoons are in fact a perfect medium for conveying and commenting on the constantly accelerating meltdown rush of these hyper-commodified, info-overloaded, runaway techno-capital last days. As I posted somewhere else on this site in relation to 9/11 - reality is becoming cartoonish. BTW, pay no heed to Rotunda Pants' false modesty. The guy has a huge talent.
