Am I going mental?

At my old school, Kings Norton Grammar, (now boys)we used to hold the corner of our shirt collar in our mouth if an ambulance or a hearse went past. We had to do that until something else happened (but I can't remember what).

NOBODY else remembers doing this. I can't think that it was confined to KN. Does anyone else remember this or is it just me being a mad old git?

Whenever I see an ambulance, I cup my breasts in my hand and whistle God Save the Queen until I see a blackbird. Is this a Brummie thing or does it have something to do with me being a 'client' in a maximum security unit?

Don't know about the Kings Norton Grammar ambulance/hearse business, but I gather a general public school superstition advises pupils never to bend over to tie their shoelaces in the playground.

At my school, one of the chemistry teachers was a gay as a window and he had a taste for pubescent boys too. If he cornered you it wasn't the edge of your collar you bit I can tell you, it was more likely to be a pillow in the back of his Allegro. I don't know how many young minds he screwed up, but thank God I came out of it unscathed and without an unhealthy interest in the workings and product of the human digestive tract.

We used to hold the collar until spotting a four legged animal.
