Nah, I've actually got more of a survival instinct then you give me credit for, Russ (although an excessive consumption of double vodka and red bull does tend to work against it on occasion).

Incidentally, Mick Kenney was in the Costas last night, showing off his new guitar - an all black Epiphone Les Paul-style single cutaway, similar to the one the quiet bald bloke in Mistress plays. Nice.
However, I did maintain a respectful distance from him.
I mean the man is an extreme metal god after all, innit.

Leeds accept Nicholls' dismissal
Leeds United will not appeal against Kevin Nicholls' dismissal at Ipswich Town on Saturday."

That is a quote from a BBC website which details the sending off of a Leeds United player at Ipswich Town on the day that they had the two minute silence for the prostitute murders. His name is Nicholls, the same as victims of the 1880 Ripper murders and that of one of the Ipswich ones. Sinclair has written of how football stadia may incite occult resonances.. Don't forget Howard Marks talking of all the Ks in 'Landor's Tower' (They take it as a sign). The player's name is Kevin and the message was last updated at 11.23. A silent 'W' in the name 'Stephen Wright'(the man charged over Ipswich) can be seen as transformed into Stephen Knight (silent 'K'), the man who wrote about Gull and Whitechapel and which informed Sinclair in White Chappell Scarlet Tracings. Knight presumably supplied the information that William Withey Gull was cross-dresser. The inspector in the Ipswich case has the name Gull.

That's funny. Leeds were at Blues last night and lost 1-0. The same as the Ipswich game, I think. United won 2-3 and Reading scored in the 23rd minute. Things did not come good for them though. I watched the game and thought Solksjare might have been wearing 23. Strange though about that film - the Number 23. It turned up just as the thread on this site had just run dry. Spooky!

I looked into that '23' film and it does say that it's 23 conspiracy turns dangerous. This,it seems is what we have come to. On the night of the film's release, the 23rd, there was a train crash in Cumbria where one person died and 22 were injured. I remember Chaz with a copy of william Burroughs in 1967. This makes the equation that m8e so desires symmetrical. Burroughs was told by a sea captain, while travelling between Spain and Morroco that the boat had been going for 23 yrs and never sank. Shortly after it did. The captain's name was Captain Clark. Shortly after burroughs heard of a plane going down on the eastern seaboard of the States and it was flight 23. The Captain's name was Clark. Charlie told me that he bought a book by Robert Anton Wilson to read about this and the next day a film was on the T.V. where Gregory Peck starred as a sea captain and his name was Captain Clark. I read the last Mitton thread and the references by Matey to 'pseudo-science'. I do however read an undenial geometry into these happenings and have come to believe that they do represent a phenomenon. Plus Russ was well and truly synkromeshed when a quote came from a book on derrida that brought together Zen riddles and the 'raven and the writing desk' quotation, both things that had just previously been talked about.

So how come you missed the mighty 'Thrakh last night, Russ? Poncing it up at Symphony Hall again?

To be honest though, the gig didn't have quite the shock and awe impact I was anticipating - at least not in comparison with the aural Armaggedon they unleashed at Eddies the other year.
For one thing, even though the Napalm Death rhythm section was in attendance, they didn't actually play with them this time - apart from when Shane Embury joined them for the last number of the night - and the guitars sounded very blurred and indistinct in the mix (well at least from where I was standing, with my head pressed up against one of the PA stacks).
Also they only played for about 45 minutes, leading me to uncharitably suspect that they were saving themselves for their London gig tonight, when all the major metal mag reviewers are likely to be watching them.

Nevertheless, Dave C. was on excellent form, and his introduction to "When the Lion Devours Both Dragon and Child," via an esoteric reference to Nietzsche's Thus Spoke Zarathustra, was worth the admission price alone.

Nah, I came back off holiday yesterday and was too tired. I was umming and arring about whether to go to either this or the boxing and ended up opting for neither.

I'm sad to hear that they didn't blow the roof off the place, though.

Edit: Did you see Esoteric's set, incidentally? How were they?

Just a crushing wall of sloth-paced doom noise - with a Silent Bob lookalike drummer who was inexplicably reading from a stand of sheet music!

Just peaking thru the noise (random chaos) for a moment, I just thought that it might be good for posterity to let it be known that a guy called Ron that I know has found a copy of the new revised edition of Stephen Knight's book which he passed on to me and the new foreward tells of a Ripper theorist, an American whose name is 'STEPHEN WRIGHT'. He just had to turn up on p.5 (2+3) on the very same page as someone called 'Hinton'. There is now growing evidence of an asymmetry between the two texts. Acausal but reflecting action at a distance and time again thru names and events. Incidentally the asymmetry in the names of two of the Ripper victims - 'Nicol' and 'Nicholls' is not only pairable with the 'K. Nicholls' (footballer) but in Knight's book there is a reference to the 1880 prostitutes being under threat from the 'Old Nicholl Gang'. And then there's that strange subatomic particle called the kaon which not only asymmetrisizes with the Buddhist koan but its debris reveals sets of 2 and 3 pions which not only demonstrates the existence of anti-matter but but also an arrow of time previously thought not to exist at the quantum level. Then in Knight's book there is a reference to the 'The K Cometh' a 19thC publication implicated in the events of Knight's book. It Is mentioned in 'White Chappell Scarlett Tracings'. Once again we can discern deterministic chaos battling random and entropic chaos.
