If it's motor racing you're into, check out Heartlands Parkway around midnight most Fridays.
Full-on boy-racer mayhem.

Well yes, I suppose they could be described as tossers - and recklessly irresponsible tossers at that.
Considering the crazy speed at which they go into the Aston Church Road roundabout, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it all ended in carnage one night.

Here's some pictures of the cars involved in 1986.

If you scroll down you'll see car 70, a cheeky little Shrike P15, which I worked on as junior pit crew/engineer. We didn't qualify due to some handling problems. I think strong drink had got the better of us the night before and we didn't inflate the tyres correctly. Or something. Anyway, all I can remember was the drivers were very cross at our incompetence.

I recall the race was eventually won by the car shared by Doctors Carl Chinn and Vera Jenkins. Vera, in an awesome display of sliding, late braking and defying her aggravated varicose veins, put the terrifyingly powerful 5.7 litre Lola CanAm on pole. Those who were there to witness it still speak in hushed tones of her qualifying laps in the wet.

Happy days, apart from the bollockings for being useless.
