Any news of Charle?
replied on: 1/27/2008 4:29:24 PM Yes, on Friday night he'd been to see the Pretty Things at the 100 Club and I met up with him in London yesterday, eventually leaving him vodka'd out of his funny head in the French House in Soho. Prior to that my art critic London girlfriend had signed us both into the exclusive Soho House private members club, where we only just managed in the nick of time to stop him from pissng all over the roof garden. Such a naughty man. |

replied on: 2/23/2008 12:22:49 PM I was with Charlie at the Symphony Hall Rush Hour Blues gig last night, and introduced him to the photographer Garry Corbett who photographs the bands there every week. He also takes portrait-style photos of some of the audience members, and took an absolutely superb (at least in terms of photographic technique) picture of Charlie, which can be seen at - www.flickr.com/photos/bluejazzbuddha. (BTW, one of the comments posted about the picture compares it to an iconic black and white picture of Samuel Beckett - though personally I reckon he looks more like someone playing one of the Waiting for Godot tramps than anything else) |

replied on: 2/24/2008 10:43:52 AM quote: Indeed, there it is, right next to his picture - Charlie Mitton, uploaded on February 23 - yet another addition to the seemingly endless accumulation of synchronistic occurrences of the number 23 in his life. As the astrophysicist Sir Arthur Eddington once said - "Not only is the universe stranger than we imagine, it is stranger than we CAN imagine." |
