| m8e Rank: Ozzy | U23D at the IMAX posted on: 2/25/2008 9:51:42 AM At least until Martin Scorsese's forthcoming Stones film hits the screens, this is the best cinematic rendition of a live rock gig you're ever going to see. Even if you don't particularly like U2 and find Bono's political preaching and hammy dramatics as intensely irritating as I do, the film is still worth seeing, purely on account of the "better than the real thing" quality of the 3D cinematography itself. As the Evening Mail's critic Graham Young says, the camera turns you into a disembodied ghost, floating around both the stage and the stadium - resulting in an experience which I personally found to be uncannily like a ketamine trip. IMAX technology used to maximum effect. Worth £8.75 of anyone's money. |
