Naturally, it didn't really present your best image. Ya know, every time someone posts a Meera picture she looks cuter to me! I had an interesting experience last night. I went to a musical at a local high school. It is what they call the International Baccalaureate high school. Anyway, I started noticing Indian girls there. But not a single Indian BOY. And the girls were REALLY cute. But mostly very SMALL. But I think they were as tall or taller than Madhuri and Malaika. And it suddenly hit me how TINY these people are who come out so HUGE on the screen! Or am I just huge? I don't know. Actually with the exception of a few tall boys, everybody, including the parents, at that musical seemed to be built on a small scale, so maybe it is just me. And now that I think about it, that was the same reaction I got when seeing Khakee among a nearly-all-Indian audience. The girls ran to very petite. Amazingly cute but tiny. My wife is tiny, so I've got nothing against it, but it requires adjustment when all you've seen on the screen are people of about the same size. So I suppose Meera is 5 feet tall. GGMB |

replied on: 3/21/2004 9:10:03 PM About that, GGMB. A lot of the mothers are shorter, and the next generation, my generation, seems to have average to tall girls. I have no idea why, but when I go to Indian functions, all of the mothers are short, and the teens/young adult women quite tall. Maybe it's something we ate...

When you have a billion people, they can't be TOO big or they'll start to crowd each other. By comparison, we're pretty sparse here in the USA. Also, in America, we're so huge, it forces everybody to get bigger so they can be seen. All of the above is total nonsense, which is pretty standard for me. But I have an image to live down to.
