I'd like to know more about this game before I buy
replied on: 1/15/2004 4:18:45 PM I'm looking to get into the MMPRPG scene and am not sure where to start. SWG is really appealing to me because of the graphics (and the other reasons I’ll mention bellow), but being new to this genre I don’t want to buy it unless I’m confident that I’ll enjoy it. 1) I am worried that because I have never been a fan of the Star Wars movies I might not like this game. It's not to say that I disliked the movies, I just never cared either way. I don't know much about the Star Wars world; however I am interested in exploring it. So will my not being a fan and not being knowledgeable about the SW world make me enjoy this game any less? 2) I'm not too interested in a lot of social interactions with people, when I feel I need to socialize I don't usually do it on the computer. However I am very interested in being a member of the world of SWG, I really like the idea of having real people selling me items and just in general, being in a world populated by people, instead of my computer (as in traditional RPGs). Basically what I am asking is will I be required to join clans or the like, or can I be self-sufficient and still be successful in this game? 3) I’m hoping that if buy this game I will be able to convince my girlfriend to join up too. She is more interested in Star Wars than I am and I could probably convince her to give it a try. If this does happen, will I need to buy her a copy of the game, or can I just use mine to install it? I would assume that we will need another account to play, so another $15 a month, but I just don’t want to have to buy two copies of the game. 4) Lastly, there have been a lot of negative posts about EverQuest on here; I was just curious why you think that SWG is better than EQ? I don’t know enough about either game to understand the differences. EQ does have a certain appeal because of its overall success, however with EQ2 coming out I wouldn’t know whether to go for traditional EQ or wait for this second version of it. Thank you for all of the help! |
