Weird account problem
replied on: 8/19/2003 5:45:02 PM Double-check that your credit card has enough credit on it to take the monthy fees pre-paid. I checked and I had only $15 of credit left. (Mommy borrowed my card to buy some snowtires) I used a friend's card, paid them the cash and I was back in the game (literally, nyuck nyuck). Still, it would really help if the CS people would just say "Yo, cheapskate! Yer card don't got enough green to go around! Ya know what I'm sayin' dawg?" At least then I could understand them lol |

Weird account problem
replied on: 8/16/2003 10:34:19 PM I'm having the same problem, when entering my CC # I get a "card reject, but due to system problems" notice. I too was "helped" by chat cs in that I was told to contact my bank or financial institution. They have no idea what I'm talking about. I too have been on for a while, since day 2 on Valcyn and am recieving no help. I guess since billing is down we are no longer "customers" and not deserving of there stellar CS abilities. My vendor is empty, my harvesters have stalled out, this is costing me (in-game) a fortune. will I be compensated? doubtfull. If Sony wants to give it's soon to be former customers an easy out, then not accepting payment is brilliant. I love this game, bugs and all, but I've never had to work this hard to give someone money, WTF is goin on here? |

Weird account problem
replied on: 8/5/2003 12:39:47 AM So I received an email from SOE about this problem. Here is an excerpt: "We apologize, but there is nothing that we at Sony Online Entertainment can do regarding your credit card not processing charges from our company....Your financial institution most likely places your credit card request in a queue where it waits behind other cards to get confirmation request ahead of yours. This will delay the amount of time it would take for your signal. If you choose to use the card late in the evening or early in the morning during low volume periods your chances of getting a confirmation success should increase. However, there are a few common mistakes customers make that causes trouble in validating credit cards through Sony Online Entertainment. Make sure your billing address matches the address your credit card company has on file for you. Also, please verify that the expiration date is correct. (Please note, the online example has a / shown in the date field, but should not be used. Just enter the numbers with no spaces or other characters.) If you still have problems, you'll probably need to contact your Credit Card Company or bank." Guess mister public service rep decided that my email wasn't good enough to actually read. If he had done so, maybe he would have figurd out that 1) all the above info is useless and, the reason for that is, 2) I've been registered from day 0. Talk about a total waste of time! 2 days w/o SWG and counting.... |

Weird account problem
replied on: 8/2/2003 11:32:22 PM hey all, here's a new bug I've been stuck with since this morning: At login, after the information necessary is entered, I get the "please subscribe" dialogue as if my account was not yet registered. It really sucks because I can't get any decent tech support until Monday at 9am PST, which is apparently when actual people resume work. That in itself is ridiculous, IMHO. Anyways, is anyone else having this problem? jw ::Followup:: I checked the official forums (yay, they're working) and apprently as of July 28th SWG has been experincing some "billing problems" that they say wiil be resolved shortly. hmm 5 days and running isn't what i'd consider shortly, but anyays... Here is the URL: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Techsupport&message.id=55981 Two things: First, it's awfully weird that my client started acting up a fews days AFTER the problem was announced. Perhaps the admins had to bring down cetain people's subscriptions temporarily in order to fix them. Or maybe the billing/account server that my data is on is down right now for the same reason. Second, I also have this odd problem which prevents me from signing-in on the forums. I do the standard login stuff but I always end up with a "read-only, not logged in" status as I am forwarded to whatever part of the forums I was trying to post on. I've heard people with the billing bug have this problem, so it's not a big suprise, but it is awfully weird. I'm thinking it has something to do with their cookies not being retained properly, since launchpad uses them just as the forums do. Perhaps the lack of cookies it necessary to fix the billing problem, though. Ah well. I just hope everything is fixed soon before my house decomposes! |
