That is interesting. I was guessing that the "wearable" would be some type of jewelry or some other item that would go over your out fit. Not any clothes themselves. I am sure that they thought many people would want to change there out fits from time to time. They have professions for such a thing. But who knows...

lol, yes if the wearables are useless to a person who's played the game for more than a day, then they will be just that to me. Perhaps if the wearables are things to go on OVER one's efficient and useful stuff I'd consider them worthwhile

This was for a non-collector's edition game.

By the way, just wanted to say hi. It's been awhile since you posted using a hick accent on one of the Beta updates, Blade, but that extremely funny.

your guess is as good as mine. I suspect the free month is for every game purchase, but the "unique wearables" are exclusive to the SE (but they are still just clothes items).

ok, cool. But does that mean that the one month of free play WON'T be included with the standard edition?

Not to mention the in-game wearables. All it says is "...items that only your avatar can wear." This could simply be a marketing ploy to get us to buy the Special Ed. Maybe these wearables are just noob items that everyone gets that can't be traded to others?

I know how crafty advertizing can be sometimes by making people think they are getting something as a bonus when they're really not, so that's why I'm asking.

OK--here's what EBGames says thus far:

* SWG game with one month free
* Exclusive in-game wearables: Special items only your avatar in the game can wear
* SWG character figurine from Radcliffe
* Art concept book
* SWG Game logo patch
* Special Edition Game Manual signed by key members of the development team

I can't remember what the advertisement in PCGamer said--but the devs said it was "dated" anyway. I'll check for you tonight and post it.

Collector's Edition
replied on: 2/3/2003 10:37:46 PM

Anyone know the difference between regular and collector's edition Galaxies?

I reserved my copy of the standard edition and I'm thinking of going back to the store and changing my reservation for the latter, if it has anything worthwhile

Example: I know that the CE only has the exclusive CE "wearables" in the game, but what about the other stuff? The add in PC Gamer says that collector's edition has 30-day free trial. But does standard edition have that too?

Does anyone think that these wearbles are actually going to be worth our while after the first few hours of playing? I don't wanna play an extra $15 if all I get is a "Jawa's Robe of Craptitude" to wear for the first day and then throw away.

Note: I'm asking for opinions, since it's prolly not been decided yet. Any help would be appreciated, even from past experiences with "exclusive" items (from past games etc)
