Do you want to know how to make a user a moderator or to do the approval function activation thing? I'll walk you through both.
Okay, to make a member a moderator, Go to your control panel and click "My societies". Now click the link "members" and it will show you a list of every single member that has posted at your forum.
Now click the name of the member that you want to be a moderator in the forum... You will see a link come up called "member rights". Click this link and check all forums that you want the member to have moderating rights to.
To do membership by approval, go back to the main society page. click the name of the forum that you want to have membership by approval.
Double Click the Link that says security, then click membership my password...
I dont know how to do by approval for an individual forum, but try unchecking the approval box in for the main forum, saving it, then checking it back, then saving it. That should refresh the membership by approval function.

When it comes to "links" in a web page, you do not need to "double click", that just causes your browser to start loading, and then on the second click start all over.
You also can not do MBA (Membership By Approval) for a single forum. It's based on the whole society.
