Not so private forum?
posted on: 10/6/2003 6:31:14 AM

I have a password protected forum for the moderators of my site but when i log out and come back not logged in, i can still access the forum without being prompted by the password.

I understand this happening when i'm logged in (it remembers me from last time etc), but when i'm logged out? Which basically means anyone can access that forum if they use my computer...

How can i change this?

theres also one difference.

When i come in as a guest...it doesnt have the option of reply or quote under the avatars. But still lets me into the password protected forum.

When i come in as moderator and signed in...it has the reply/ quote options.

I really need to fix this or theres no point having a private forum :|

when you sign out, you can still go into your password protected forum, because it uses cookies i believe, something to that matter.

and you cant post a quote or reply because you put it as a moderators only forum.

i hope i answered your questions.

actually the password protected forums do not use cookies. It uses a server side session. If you logged out, and then closed the browser and opened a new browser the session would no longer be there.

that too makes since. but the only thing i could think of would be cookies.. even though that would be using javascript, and i dont see much of that here.
