| Can members delete topics?!? posted on: 10/7/2003 2:57:41 PM Can members have the ability to delete an entire topic if they started it? I can't find a topic on my forum and the person who started it has disappeared off my members list. It looks like the person left and took their topic with them. I thought only moderators had the ability to do that.
I wasn't even sure members had the ability to delete their own posts. (other forums I've been to havent had that option.

they can only delete their own topic they posted, but i dont think they can delete individual posts within a topic.
also, if they are moderators, they can delete and move and edit and stickey any topic.

As a forum owner, you can view deleted posts, and undelete them if you so desire.

Select your forum so that you are viewing the list of topics. At the bottom of the screen just below the Icon Key there is a drop down menu. Select "View Deleted Posts (Owner Only)" and click Do It. You will now be viewing all the deleted posts. You can then tick a deleted topic and select Reopen to un-delete it. Don't forget to change back to "View Live Posts" when you've finished or you'll return next day and wonder wtf happened to your forum.
