This is a pretty active travel board with a lot of off-topic discussion areas as well. Someday when I have the money I'm going to buy some web hosting - just a single splash page with our name, a (possibly changing weekly) bit of content, maybe along the lines of "Top Ten Travel Destinations in Eastern Europe" or some such thing, and a link to our forum. I do know it looks quite boring - we have a snazzy new logo courtesy of one of our posters, but I still need to find a place that allows remote hosting so that I can put it up! I also want to change the colors etc. I was thinking of a really simple color scheme maybe based on white, charcoal grey and a bit of red. Come have a look! |

replied on: 10/23/2003 7:02:26 AM I have now added the Backpackers logo to all the pages. I also changed the color scheme for one of the forums but have left the others as is, since most of our members prefer the white background/blue text because it's easily readable. I'd still like to hange the overall background, but since that's really the only thing I can change it doesn't leave me much scope for creativity  I'd appreciate any comments about the layout - I'd like to get it sorted in the next few days since I've got a bit of time to work on it right now. |

replied on: 10/24/2003 6:33:22 AM Wow... that's actually helpful to ME, lol, and I have never gotten out of the country. I'm interested in Halliburton, the company working overseas. My boyfriend wants to travel to Iraq or Afghanistan ("Wherever there's heat" - his words) to be a mechanic, and I've been studying Arabic for two years... I'd love to get in the middle of it. |

replied on: 10/24/2003 7:08:44 AM Come on over and post any questions you've got about it on the Middle East forum - we've got a poster who speaks fluent Arabic (I think he may teach it as well), who's worked extensively in the Middle East and knows a lot about the situation over there right now. |
