replied on: 11/21/2003 1:57:59 PM i know and have done that, but they are still able to view the society. they dont like the replies, so they make another account to reply. if they don't know what's been posted, they have little reason to make another account. |

replied on: 11/22/2003 1:19:10 AM dont bring that in here KS. i would expect that you have more respect for Lawizard's official forums than bringing the war over here. frankly, i dont want certain users to even view my forum. all was fine until a certain someone came in and started a war. i ban him, he lurks, and makes a new account to attack us again. there needs to be a Super Ban that does something more than just not allowing them to post. does the membership by approval thing prevent them from viewing the forum at all until i have given approval? |

You should NOT have to put a wall up on your forums to keep every non-member out when it’s only ONE person making the problems. Making your forum for “members only” really makes it unfriendly to people just passing by. As in my forums, many people stop in to ask a question about a game or to post a link to there own forums, and having to wait for approval would just about stop that completely. It would be a GOOD idea to make it so a person who is banned can no longer view your society if you wish... unless you just don’t know how to do that... then that s a different story altogether.

I don’t believe that there is nothing else that could be done from keeping SINGLE unwanted guest from viewing your society. Perhaps you can explain why you can not make it so a banned IP user can not view your forums. Is it just not a good idea to you, or can it really not be done? |
