I have a bit of a problem. Ok, i am the owner for a site, and for me to delete posts and have moderator powers, i have to check all the boxes for mod rights.
The problem is that i am the ownwer, and i dont have the power to delete posts, without having my name appear in the "moderators:" area on wach forum.
What should i do???
HELP!

As the owner of a society, you have all rights to it, which include deleting posts.

One thing you do have to do, is make sure your logged in. If you are NOT logged in, then you do not have admin rights.

that's what i thought to...but when I dont turn on moderator rights for myself, all I can do is edit...I can't delete without my name showing up twice as "Moderators:"

Take a look at this, and look at "General Forum". My name shows up twice. And only when my name shows up twice, can i delete posts.
here: http://www.chatarea.com/XenoIllusions

see, when i dont turn on mod rights, all i can do is edit, i cant delete...HELP!!!!

EDIT: wait a minute, i have the power to delete in forums i have posted in. Does the owner have to post in that sub-forum to be able to delete?

you can take your moderator powers away?

i dont think that would make a difference since you OWN the society,

select all the ones you want deleted, in the select menu, select delete, and submit.

then type in your pass and violla..

I logged in as you and didn't see a problem. I looked at all your forums and on every single one of them you had all rights, you had rights to delete, close, make sticky, and move topics just like an owner should.

no no no d00d,

i think you looking at the threads themselves, and your wondering why you can delete single posts but not the whole thread

just open up one of your ofrums

and to the left of a topic, there is a radio box, check it, and at the bottom, there is an option menu, click on it, and scroll to delete, then click "do it" and type in your password and it will delete whichever thread you clicked on.

btw, you can also un-delete threads.

It's a check box, not a radio box . Radio boxes are the cirular thingymaboblas.

Also, I've noticed that regardless of your moderator powers, it seems you can close and delete threads you've started provided you view the first page. Is this meant to be that way?

I think his question about closing & deleting threads IS pretty much on the same topic. Certainly nothing to get upset about!

That's what I meant. Start a thread in a forum you don't moderate, view the first page of that thread, and in the top border, where you have links like control panel, log out, stuff like that, you have close thread and delete thread if I remember correctly.
