| 2 suggestions... posted on: 1/22/2004 2:10:57 AM 1. In the area where we have the wonderful new emoticons listed (in the post page,) would it be posible for us to get a few java buttons which would paste the html codes/tags we use into the message?
For example: an "image" button would paste in the empty (img)(/img) code tags into the post box, and the same with; url, quote, bold, italic, center & code. - Just the empty tags.
And I know everyone is gonna say something like: "is it to hard to type that each time" - Well if you are lazy as me, yes Besides it couldnt hurt to have this could it?
2. How about a admin-box that would toggle certain frequently used options for each forum. - This would simplify forums use for the admins because they would not need to go into the controll panel each time.
Let me explain.
A little box by the "who is online box" for instance; with little checkboxes giving us options to toggle like:
html in message html in title pass protected (?) images in message
And so forth... for all other members it could work as a info box to see what options are available to them. Like on these forums: <a target="_blank" href="http://www.lucasforums.com/forumdisplay.php?s=2c4f3c72b7086108e6f17f8164728b93&forumid=281">http://www.lucasforums.com/forumdisplay.php?s=2c4f3c72b7086108e6f17f8164728b93&forumid=281 scroll down to the bottom of the page on that one.
If I or someone else already suggested this, sorry
These are only suggestions.... no hurry at all Dann, i know you have alot to do |

If the options-box feture could be done, it could work as an work-around for the html-subject issiue.
The mod/admin would do the following if he wanted the topic to be more viewable (bold)
1. check the "htlm in subject" checkbox 2. press apply 3. make the new topic (with bold text ie) 4. uncheck the "htlm in subject" checkbox 5. press apply
Also, if we could have the html-buttons, it would be extra nice to haveone "url" button and one "a-link" button.

I have plans for something like that in the future. I am working on a nice asp.net rich text box control right now, but it doesn't do the kind of code we do so I have to figure out how to get around that problem.
I could purchase the richtexbox control at http://www.richtextbox.com but it's kind of expensive and has way to many options and it can only be used in IE.
So right now I am not sure what I am going to do, and this is on the list.
As for as #2, I don't think we need it at this point in time, but I know what your talking about and if we get to the point where we have those kinds of options, they will be added in.
