The person that created our forum lacks some html skill and its hard for me to help with out seeing whats going on. Not that I am an html master or what not but I can do some things. Thanks for any help. |

I think something like that is on the To Do list. In the meantime, would this person consider having you log in as them to help out with some things?

I think Sharky said it would require a major change to how the system works, which is why it's being put off so much or something to that extent.

He is right it would be a change to the system but I believe it is something that is being considered in the future.

Solution?
replied on: 11/12/2005 1:43:14 PM
I resolved this problem quite easily. The owner user name of my forum is Caernarfon and I only use it when I am going to go in and make changes. There is someone else who has the password and he can make the changes also, we just log out as soon as we are finished. Neither one of us stay logged in with the owner user name.
For my personal posts to our forum, on which I am very active, I use this user name, Caera Anne. The forum members know who I am and that I am the owner, but our forum is huge and very active and I just don't have the time to do all the changes that need to get done.
I do believe that those having trouble with not being able to make the changes themselves could solve their problem in the same way I have. It has freed up the owner account to be used to make changes in it.
Hope this might be of help to someone.
Most sincerely, Caera Caernarfon

I know this doesn't help you now. But it is one of the things on my list for the rewrite of the system. Except it more than likely won't get done until after the first of the year sometime, as I get into stages 3 and 4 of my rewrite.
Right now I am in stage 1, and it's about 10-20% complete.
In the mean time, the same account can be used by two people at the same time. He can still view/post while you are logged in as him updating his/her forums. This is not the best thing, and you should also advise that person to change the password of the account when you guys are finished.
