This would make getting rid of broken links and older emoticons, soooooo much easier than having to delete each and every one of them individually!!! Esp since I still have dial-up...I know, I know get with the times...everyone laugh at me...lol!!!

I know this would be a nice to have, but I am not adding anything to the current code at the moment, because I am in the process of rewritting the whole site. This will be one of the things added to the new site.

Yea, I am working on it. It's taking forever I know, but I am really starting to figure some cool things out which some people will really love.

Some thoughts about upgrades
replied on: 1/3/2005 1:31:26 AM

Hi everyone.
Maybe this message is a bit misplaced.
Maybe i should have opened a new thread. Anyway..,I just wanted to share with other people some thgts about program upgrades.
Recently trillian , a handy instant messenger software, did upgrade . The upgrade was a complete flop, so to speak. People hated it..,including myself , lol.
Trillian was a simple program that did not use too much computer memory. It did have tonnes of features.
The fellows from trillian made it much more like the other instant messengers .
People hated the change.
The fellows of trillian got crazy , lol
Quote :
" I've had enough. I really have. Ever since the new version of Trillian came out, there's been nothing but a bunch of whiny-ass casper milque toast trolls complaining about everything under the sun:
"It's too complex!" (read: I'm too stupid!)"It uses too much memory!" (read: My computer sucks!)"<whatever> doesn't work with version 3!" (read: I'm too stupid to figure it out!)And it goes on and on. My question is simple: When AOL, Yahoo, and/or MSN come out with a newer, more bloated version, do you bitch and moan about their program, as well? Do you insist on emailing whoever will listen and go onto every message board in existence and complain about the popups and spyware on those crappy programs? I have one bit of advice for you--SHUT UP!".When it comes to upgrades..,one has to be cautious, lol. What do I enjoy about chatarea ?1- the passworded , foruns .
A guy has the option to password certain foruns and not password other foruns.2- Chatarea pages load easily. No pop ups.
3- People can post pictures and links in the messages.
It is simple to post a picture in a message.
(Just type img ).
As far as I can see it ( this is just an opinion ) a software should have the following characteristics :
1- Simplicity.
Keep it simple.2 A program should not use too much computer resources.Graphics..,colours are great.., but some people still have windows 98 , and other people computers do suck lol.
If a program , website does consume too much computer resources , some people might not like it.

3 - a very good message board is proboards

Happy 2005

It would be nice if in the new chat area forum version moderators had the option to allow anonimous comments.
People should be able to post anonimously , without registeering. The registration process is very simple to english speaking fellows , but when it comes to non english speaking people things do get a bit more confusing.Since a board is about inter acting with visitors , if the moderator had the ability to allow anonimous posting , it would be great.
